New Vehicle

Maybe someone here has an answer for me.
I'm having some issues with a new vehicle ( not mechanical related) and the dealership actually offered to take the new car back. They'd give me my trade in back and money back but wouldn't be able to refund the sales tax ( which is about 2600.00$) as they said " Lousiana wouldn't refund the money".
Anyone know if this is true or where I could possibly find this information? I appreciate any information

When you return an item at the store you get your sales tax back.

The dealership is trying to scam you.

Louisiana used moter vehicle commission. Call these guys and get the truth. Or call the dept of revenue. Dont trust anything a dealer tells you. They just either one dont want to do the paperwork or, two, are trying to keep the money for themselves. If you come to find out they are doing the, sue the frickers or call the paper to have a story written about the terrible business practices

They are full of shite. There is a spot when you file monthly sales taxes that is called sales returns. They would need to file an amended return and then the state would credit them the amount on their next filing.

Why are you returning a new car that doesn’t have mechanical issues?

Alters love to pick topics that get the two sides of the OT against the other.
The paperwork to get taxes back is complicated.
You signed a conditional delivery receipt at time of purchase. You didn't read it. You should have.
They can take it back and charge you a fee for reconditioning.

Taxes are based on where you live dumbass. That's a $27000 car in my parish. 52k in cameron parish.

Nothing to do with bragging. I want the vehicle but don't want a damaged vehicle. They've "fixed it" twice.
And... It wasn't 65K
There's obviously something wrong with it if they offered to take it back.

frick you a-hole. I don't live in the shithole called Louisiana so I just googled Louisiana auto tax and it came back as 4%, and since the OP said the dealer said Louisiana wouldn't repay, it was reasonable to assume the tax he described is state.
But most importantly, frick you.

None of what you just typed told me anything... except that you are lazy and uninformed.

The chances of the taxes being a perfect round number are slim.
