Was talking to the general manager of a big Chevrolet dealership last week. The problem is making the vehicle it’s the chips. Said at these plants, they have tons of trucks that can’t be shipped because they have no chips. Basically they make the vehicle bring them outside and take the chip out to make more.

Hubby was telling me in the NOLA area, the total inventory of Chevy/GM/Ford is around 300, which is apparently insane. That’s among all the dealerships.

I know about the chips but is it other things too? My BIL has had his raptor in the shop for over two months now waiting on a new transmission

The newer transmissions have the control modules right in them versus being a separate external unit.

Rental cars are getting difficult or impossible to find in some places. Used car prices are up 10%. Yeah let’s shutdown the economy for a cold.

I feel for these with recently flooded vehicles ... it's going to be slim pickings for sure. Our son is waiting for his truck to get the chip .. it may be a while.

Bought a new F-250 from Lamarque recently. They were depleted in new car stock then. I think it is across the board like that.

I bought an F250 with the 7.3 gas last month. There was no leverage to negotiate at all. Sticker.

They used all of the chips in the vaccines. Once everyone is vaccinated, they can go back to supplying auto makers.
