I had my truck at Banner Chevrolet to get the A/C worked on, unfortunately they couldn't give me a loaner. Guy basically said we don't have any vehicles in stock.

Passed their overflow yard and it's 3/4s empty. He said they usually have over 200 vehicles in stock and now they have less than 50.

Anyone trying to purchase a new vehicle is screwed, there's basically zero negotiation room what-so-ever.

Good luck to anyone looking for a new one...

Right when we were planning on getting my wife a new vehicle too

Seems like you can get a better deal on your trade-in, but hat is offset with lesser deals on the new cars

oh well, we have outgrown her little Escape, so we will just have to suck it up soon, I guess

Bought a new F-250 from Lamarque recently. They were depleted in new car stock then. I think it is across the board like that.

Jerry Lane offered me 12k less than I paid for my 5 year old GMC Sierra due to the shortage.

Dealerships are about to shut the doors other than their maintenance side if this microchip frickery does not get figured out.

Maybe those workers can get jobs at restaurants so the fats will stop complaining about slow service when they go out to eat.

Not completely true, but it is harder now for sure. The trade off is you can get more for your trade in. I just did, and in January was offered $18K, and traded in last week and got $26K.

Just bought a new car last weekend and got it for $10,000 less than their original offer. I haven’t bought one in years so I don’t know if that’s abnormal or what but I was stoked. We negotiated for three hours though .

Most vehicles also use "legacy chips", and with the boom of telecom and commercial computing during the pandemic, all of those companies that would do 50/50 manufacturing of both sets of chips shifted over to 75/25 in favor of newer boards.

They had to, no one was buying vehicles at the time.

I know about the chips but is it other things too? My BIL has had his raptor in the shop for over two months now waiting on a new transmission

*honda.

Every honda dealer is nearly full from what I can see. Domestic, toyota, and nissan are wastelands.

Koreans are doing fine.
