in my brief exposure to travel ball there was a lot of hanky panky going on, I'm sure teams were picked for kids to be on because of the "lifestyle" of the parents

Ive always suspected as much. They "travel" so much to different cities anything is possible. Throw in some alcohol and next thing you know you are playing just the tip.

I got the impression from a lot of people that the games were just something to do in between parties

there is names on a team banner? Wtf

It looks trashy with kids trying to look hard buts its the only way to get something for sponsors to put their names on.

A lot of travel ball stuff banner, bags, matching gear, speakers etc. was cost prohibitive in the late 90s early 2000s. Speakers were not possible and to get any custom stuff it was expensive and you have order it from Red Stick if you were in BR or Staples in New Orleans and i took 2 months to come in. Now its all cheap and easy.

People need to start calling parents out publicly who come up with this stuff.

My SIL used to work as an x-ray tech and came across this name. The lovely young lady was very very upset that her totally normal name was not pronounced correctly.

I don’t believe you or her
