I expected a rough storm and it was. I rode it out and thought everything was ok. I was wrong. I didn’t realize that the tough part at least in Baton Rouge off of Goodwood and Airline was no power for a week and gas outages and price gouging. 59 bucks for two five gallon jugs etc. Half mile long lines to get gas. Cleaning up debri and finding it hard to find bread and dried food. I will be more prepared for the next one.

I want to say that this state is unlike the rest of the south. Totally different culture and the food is in a class by itself. The people are great and aside from a few incest jokes in jest I have been made tofeel at home. My girlfriend is hooking up tickets to the Auburn game in tiger stadium and I can’t wait. Hope you guys made it out ok.

It's not per se gouging, price deviations play an important part in rationing after an event like this.

You should always be prepared for a variety of things. Don’t be a part of the masses fighting over gasoline, food, etc. I check off my standard prep list for hurricanes and just stay at home as much as possible to avoid all the BS.

Eh, I know several people who were paying $25+ apiece for gas cans.

I’m assuming he’s referring to 5 gallon gas cans, and if so he’s not far off at all. The red plastic ones are $24.99 at Home Depot/Lowe’s even when there’s no storm threat.

Then you have to spend another $7-10 on a normal spout if you actually want to be able to pour fuel out of it

I assumed he said he spent $59 on 10 gals of gas.

But yeah I can believe he paid $25+ each for just the cans.

It's not price gouging....thats the market rate
