Damn I thought drinking was healthy

quote:

In 2016, alcohol use led to as many as 8 million deaths worldwide, and was the leading risk factor for early death and disability for teens and young adults, 15-to-49 years old.

A new study in The Lancet, is getting attention because it finds the only way to avoid the risks of drinking, is to avoid alcohol all together

Good. I don’t want to live to be old, decrepit, and a burden to my family, anyway.

Let me guess. We're fixing to get hit with a new alcohol "sin" tax.

I saw a munti-million dollar study a while back that concluded that alcohol was a factor in unintended pregnancies.

I think they overstate the risks associated with 1-2 drinks a day. Here's their own associated risk graph.

It really doesn't get bad until >4-5

And a resounding collective duh was utterred by all

I’m still going to crack open several beers and throw down a couple whiskey drinks at the week’s end, maybe while listening to some live music - bc it’s good for the soul

Wow. What a revelation. Nobel prize worthy. Maybe they’ll do a study on whether or not smoking caused lung cancer. Or maybe a study on the effects of drinking bleach.

Well, it's worse than cigarettes on your lungs. If you smoke it, use a vaporizer.
