accessible by parents.
Terrible idea. This generation of parents, especially in low income areas, have zero accountability for their children's behavior. Teachers don't need some over bearing POS parent harassing them because their baby got yelled at in front of the classroom for misbehaving.

I think it’s good because there are many ‘teachers’ in the special ed classrooms that are just place holders and are not real teachers and have no idea how to educate children that actually do have special needs.
The dvers have never set foot in a public school in EBR - just because someone is hired to lead a classroom, does not mean they are a teacher. The 2nd grade special ed ‘teacher’ at a certain elementary school in EBR for the last two years was someone that didn’t even have a degree. Luckily she was replaced this school year.

son has done special ed teaching for 20 years, physically attacked many times, Teachers especially need this video record, seems like special ed student parents all have lawyers on speed dial.

Why stop at self-contained rooms? They should be in all classrooms
As someone who taught at a public school in the Atlanta metro for three years, it is essential to have your camera on during class. You never know when the shite’s going to hit the fan, and you need to cover your arse and be able to prove what really happened.

Insane what some teachers have to go through because parents don't believe their kids are acting like lil arse holes.
There are many parents with learning disabled students who use the child as an ATM. Kids show up filthy wearing the same clothes everyday. Teeth aren’t brushed. Fingernails long and dirty.
The special ed kids aren’t the rotten, emotional cluster bombs that talk back and assault their fellow students. It’s not the learning disabled kids it’s the behavioral disorder kids. The kids born while swimming in a fetus of cocaine, booze, meth, and opiates. They can do the work but are emotionally supercharged.

Love how they exempt Orleans Parish schools from the law so they can get it passed.

I wonder if this will backfire like the police bodycams did. Insane what some teachers have to go through because parents don't believe their kids are acting like lil arse holes.
My 5th grade teacher wife (no pics) would agree with you. She has long advocated for cameras in all areas of the school except bathrooms.

I would say more than likely. And that's the best thing they can do because it eliminates the he said, she said element "Ma'am while that is what your kid said, this video shows a completely different story... Get back in line"

My wife is a teacher and has had a camera in her classroom for 2 years (not special Ed).

I would challenge anyone to find me an example of a “community advocate” type calling for getting rid of BWC. I’ll be surprised if you can find a single one.

the last one, actually calls for the ending of BWC

If that's the best you can come up with, I'd say thank you for illustrating my point
"Give me what I asked for"
"Okay, here..."
"You actually proved my point"
You're such a fricking retard
You still never explained WTF point this was supposed to "prove"...

You didn't give me what I asked for, you fricking retard. Someone saying "hey, this costs $6MM and we could spend that money elsewhere" is hardly buyer's remorse being they hadn't fricking rolled out that part of the program yet. Admit that you never made it past the headline and didn't read the articles, you lazy self-satisfied dipshit

If (practically) no one who advocated for police BWC is asking for them to be rolled back, it would stand to reason that they don't consider it as "backfiring", wouldn't it? If you think it "backfired" and the people who advocated for it to begin with don't, does that not stand to reason that you might be wrong about why they were advocating for it to begin with?

Accessible by parents? Eh, only if there’s an allegation. Otherwise, I don’t want some potential creeper watching my kid during class with a continuous feed.
If they're not going to let students carry their phones so they can video when a teacher is spouting stupid crap, then they should provide access to what the teacher is doing in class.

Again, nah. There shouldn't be a live stream accessible to all parents to watch kids and teachers all day. That, in itself, is a FERPA violation anyway in the way you want it done.
If you want to make an accusation (or clear one) and the video needs to be pulled for evidentiary purposes, that's a different story. No issue with camera and video available for incidences within FERPA guidelines.
