My worst was definitely Miami.
I probably fly 8-10 times a year total. Always out of NOLA. Always in the morning.
I've had exactly 0 issues getting through security. My wait is maybe 5 minutes. It seems like one of the best to me.

Looks awesome.

You can make it to New Orleans to Baton Rouge in an hour if you know this route.
Take interstate to Houma Boutte exit. Then take Airline. Much easier.

New Orleans is usually fast. Hell, they didn't even care about liquids in the zip lock thing, which seems to be up for grabs at whatever airport you are at any ways.
And then I decided to go to Vegas for Christmas in 2012, holy shite that security line was huge, and not only that, they wanted to give me the run down on the liquids. I was shocked someone in New Orleans was actually doing their jobs, it was just at the wrong damn time.

It looks like a greenway on the entire route to and from the Interstate.
That looks nice. Plenty of foliage for cops to hide behind to give tickets.

How on earth is dealing with all the low speed limits and signals along Airline easier than staying on I10?
It's only like 2 miles from 310 to the airport. I think there may only be one or two signals on Airline over that stretch.
I can't imagine it would normally be significantly a better route than just going Interstate into Kenner, but it's not going to be significantly worse either. Probably a wash.

The problems I see, as someone who used to work at MSY, is that it just doesn't look big enough in any sense. Current MSY's footprint is perfect for efficient handling of the current passenger load. You are going to get rid of a bunch of gates, have less space for baggage carousels, have a shorter arrival and departures pickup area, ect. And where will rental cars go? It doesn't look like there will be room for a new rental car center, so I guess they will have to invest in a train or bus system? And parking, even if they do plan on building parking on that side, where is the room for an equal amount of parking to what they have now? The amount of lanes going to and from this new design looks to be way less than the current amount as well.
The footprint of this terminal looks like what you would expect from a regional airport that serves less than 10k a day.

Its 2 miles 45 mph and 4 traffic signals. Have fun on the bridge backing up! Guarantee I will beat ya on that route 9 of 10 times.
First class is nill flying out of baton rouge on the commuter planes they have there! American flies a 3 wide plane Delta every blue moon has a fist class cabine and continental is just god awful. I can drive to Houston faster than I can get there on continental. 4 hour drive quicker than a one hour flight with delay and hour of traffic!
Book it!

And again...you don't fly that much. If you did you'd know 6 of Delta's 8 average daily departures from BTR have First Class seating. Not to mention they are flying mainline aircraft into BTR now.

If I was a _________ist, I'd definitely use NOLA as a point of origin. The place is empty half the time between 5-7 in the morning. Once they didn't even ask me to take off my shoes.

Of course you can, since Continental doesn't even fly airplane any more.

Definitely a ghost town at that time, and I'm not surprised about the shoe thing.

Yall need to go down to the D terminal. UA and DL have like 13 departures combined between 6 and 7:30 am.

Would you not have to go through the bridge traffic as well? You're not making very much sense.

Those renderings look awesome. Reminds me of the Beijing airport. I guess they'll squeeze in 15 gates per concourse.
ETA: I wonder how many gates will be set up for international arrivals

That video reminds me of the Greenville SC airport. Very nice.

Thank you, sir.
Did that engineer also design the roadways and ramps? I'm guessing this has all been designed already.
Ccesar Pelli is the architect that designed. Civil / structural engineers would be in charge of the actual roadways and ramps. If the interested GC's are having a meeting tomorrow it probably means all documents have already been completed.
