A few friends are going to be in New Orleans this weekend for the parade. Any bars that have good all day specials? I know the Parasol's Block party is a pretty good time.

TIA

The bar is set at the Baton Rouge parade's level of trashy. I hope we never fall that low.

The fact that the Irish channel parade passes in front of 10 times more and better bars makes it the better parade by default.

To answer the OP, go to Tracy's

This year will be different. I've marched for a lot of years, and most of us end our parade around tracy's or parasol's (magazine & 3rd). This year those two places aren't even close to half-way through the new route. I'm thinking Ms. Mae's is toward the end of the route. Grit's and F&M's will be closer to the end than Tracy's and Parasol's. This year I'll be just feeling out the new route and where people end up.

ETA: Totally wrong. Flip what I said. Should be similar ending because it starts at Napoleon.

Nothing is as good as the Irish Italian Islenos parade in Chalmette. Least you get produce thrown to you. And it's just as trashy and truck as the NO or BR run of the mill variety parades

Napoleon is the start. Tracey's still at the end.

BR has always reminded me more of a Northern St. Patricks day. Everyone get hammered by 9am because this is the only day we get to have any fun.

Says nobody marching in their parades. Each year, our club has ~100 people from NYPD, Baltimore, Chicago, London, Pittsburgh, etc.....who say there is no parade experience like ours (New Orleans) compared to their own cities.

Yea in pitt it was insane because it's the only day they let anyone have any fun it seems.

I compared it to kids that were home schooled going away to college.

I'm not talking about marching. I'm talking about the drunkin craziness that ensues.
