I never said just casually walking down the street, I meant working everyday in the middle of the projects where you see shite you don't see everyday. Crimes being committed, groups gangs with guns up to no good, you ignore it and avoid contact with them like they are not there. And for you to jump to conclusions that I'm white, and or scared to look at a black dude walking down the street based on anything I have posted is hilarious

Yes, this is definitely very sad. This culture is a hard thing to break. The need for fathers in those households are tremendous. I'm black and from the westbank and before I left you could see year to year the crime getting worst.

But why don't more leaders step up and do something? The folks need to realize that no one is looking out for them, and they have to do it for themselves.
I feel bad for the situation, but the only folks purporting to help them, are just taking advantage. It's really disgusting.

Well, for one, we don't have total strangers getting taken out on the reg. Over 80% of violent crimes in this city are between people that know each other. You definitely have to know your surroundings but that's the case in just about any major city. If you're a young black man in NOLA though....... Godspeed.
