Yeah, you really don't get it at all. That's ok.

I've only been to hotlanta once, so I chose the wise route and will not judge it. Seems like a pretty cool place though .

Culture is nice but I need entertainment and I just felt Atlanta had more to do.
Out of all the negatives you can give New Orleans, having something to do is probably the last on the list.

When I was was in my early 20's I had a gf that that lived in a apartment near Virginia Highlands and was all about "culture" and "vibe".

It all seemed overrated to me. I think because I have my own culture, and its not in any city.

Having the Atlanta airport nearby would be a huge plus if you travel a lot.

growing up in a metro area, when do you and your family go downtown? for sports and some special events? it really doesnt matter at all.

I go to Atlanta downtown maybe once or twice a year now.

Usually just for a sporting event or concert.

Thinking about it, if I had to choose a city to live in.

It would be Savannah by far.

It was my way of saying that big cities aren't where I like to spend my time.

I'm on the same page as you, culture is good if you're vacationing or young and/or single but I really have no use for it the way it's defined on the OT.

I do love New Orleans for a weekend at a time though

The good thing for you is that the majority of this country consists of neighborhoods filled with generic houses with off street parking and people more concerned with their lawns than music or art.

I'm not talking about suburbs, I'm talking about my closest neighbor a car ride away.

City I get. Country I get. Suburbia I don't. It's like a half assed city/country hybrid of sorts that I don't see what the draw really is in quality of life. It's not like you can really grow a bad arse mess of veggies, raise chickens, cows, goats, etc, and you can't really enjoy the city either because side walks are often at a minimum and you have to drive everywhere to Walmart and chain restaurants as far as the eye can see, which becomes the landscape.

Thats what I'm talking about

I grew up on 49 acres. I don't think I could handle being pinned up in subdivisions, or apartments.

It is all about what you like I guess. I prefer the mountains over the beach.

I live in Columbia though, so I have very easy access to both cities (2 hour drives to each).

I agree, suburbia sucks.

And no, I won't change my mind when I have kids .
