Is there a stat about “innocent” people being killed. As in, not gang shootings, drug deals gone bad, etc?

Why didn’t they do that last year or the year before?

New corrupt mayor... of course the numbers are going to drop.

Mayor doom just isnt smart enough to pull this off.

They are absolutely re-categorizing the crime. Negligent, manslaughter, suicides, missing persons, etc.

Mitch will discuss this in the Democratic Presidential Primary debates, taking all of the credit. Removing the statues is finally paying off.

there may be some funny business with the numbers (would not put it past NOPD) but just from watching the daily news, there seems to be less days with murders.

The scary thing still is, we still have an insane murder rate, and we still have way too many times where an idiot shoots into a crowd.

I've noticed the same thing; however, it seems armed robberies and car jackings have increased

Yes... and I also feel like "shootings" haven't been dramatically reduced.

The reduction in murders may be nothing more than a combination of bad aim and a great UMC saving lives.

Apparently they moved on from killing people over drug turf to taking on easier prey.
