It was clearly a hyperbolic statement though dumbass, way to hijack the thread
It was oh so funny, especially coming from you.
ETA: Not to mention that you doubled down on your first post later in the thread, so why are you backtracking now?

Luckily the spare tire carrier on the Jeep blocks out 3 of six numbers on the Jeep. No tickets or boots.
I have heard that tickets transfer to any car with the same name on the title, but I don't know about that. Basically any car with the same owner is subject to the boot.

That is definitely not true.

I thought it was far fetched, but I never looked in to it

Do you live in NOLA? Have you followed the court challenge and changes made to the program to make it more defensible?
If you do not pay, they will report the unpaid debt to the credit reporting bureaus........
That is all.

When did you agree to a contract to buy services from the City of New Orleans or their third party camera company? A simple debt validation request debunks this threat, another lie from the city.
You mean the changes that were cosmetic, that still keep the program outside the court system? You still cannot confront your accuser or exercise due process in the current system versus the system for a real speeding ticket. These "changes" were made only after the city was outsourcing camera review to a company called Anytime Solutions LLC, owned by multiple police captains, another private entity acting as if they have authority where it doesn't exist.

I'm sure the city has sent a notice to a collection agency to collect a debt on their behalf. There are ways to incur debt other than through mutually agreed upon contract.
There is nothing simple about it. Once it is on there it is on there. By the time you are finished suing the city to get them to remove the blemish from your credit report, you will wish you had paid.

If it takes me more than 30 minutes to call the credit bureau and fight this then it becomes financially irresponsible to not just pay it.
I understand the principle, but they know how much to charge to make it not worth it to fight the charge and just pay it.

Being a civil penalty that's effectively a default judgment if you don't answer, I can't see why it can't be treated like any other judgment which can be reported to a credit Bureau.

I've gotten 3 red light tickets in the mail before and have paid for none of them

Someone should tell Mitch the Sixth Amendment still applies in Orleans Parish.
The Sixth Amendment? You mean the one that starts "In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to..."?
It's a civil penalty. Do you understand now? The Sixth Amendment is irrelevant.

Same here.
My wife paid them when she went to get the boot off her car.

Do you use this line on unpaid parking tickets, too?

I agree, Mitch has found the sweet spot where it's too expensive to fight and the easier route is to pay. Too bad he can't invest the same effort in managing the city budget efficiently to avoid this blatant money grab that's already failed in other cities.

I want the records pulled to see how many city councilpersons and their immediate families have been ticketed.

Parking tickets are totally different, issued by a city employee, based on a discrete violation from a parking meter.

New Orleans...aggressively ticketing speeders, not really giving a shite about the murders

Oh? Do they nail the person driving or the person who owns the car? Hmm?
P.S.: These civil traffic infractions are signed off by a certified law officer who reviews the evidence (no different than looking at a stop-and-rob video), hence, these civil traffic infractions are ultimately issued by law enforcement.
