TSA's performance at MSY has NOTHING to do with the facility.

I flew last week. Left out of gate B7. I parked in US Park and I bet you I was standing at the gate 10-15 minutes latter. Shuttle, TSA, walk down the concourse included.

You can't walk down concourse A in Charlotte in 15 minutes.

Even people who hate the new terminal agree that the current MSY is terrible.

The only reason why I begrudgingly support the new terminal is that any rational person will tell you MSY is terrible for any traveler, tourist or business. It's dimly lit, outdated, dirty, and overall gives people visiting a city that relies on tourism a bad first impression.

With that said it comes to no surprise to anyone who has lived in this state for any number of years that this project would be delayed and over budget.

When I think of 1 TSA point of entry I think of Love Field and I immediately don't like the idea

Spend the money on the existing terminal.

Paint it. Light it up. Whatever. But as far as getting in and getting out MSY is just fine.

I've worked when tsa has had multiple sick calls... trust me having 1 check point and not 3 is a good idea.

Exactly

Anybody that thinks one checkpoint is a good idea is simply inexperienced.

I get that 100% but each Terminal in DFW has 3 main TSA checkpoints and I can literally be at my gate in less than 15 min depending on the time of day.

Charlotte has multiple checkpoints, but they all enter one, single secured area.

CLT is a major hub airport for a legacy carrier. I'd expect them to have longer concourses and more gates.

Pretty sure Boh Bros is no longer on the project. They probably only did the pilings.

And I know how many delays are put on TSA because of a lack of staffing. Now if you want to get into a 'privatizing security' argument that is fair... but one check point with TSA is better.

I know for sure they drove the pilings a few years ago.

I have no idea if they are still on the job

CLT is also rebuilding too if im not mistaken.

I would definitely support 1 Entry areas for an airport such as Eppley in Omaha where you still have a decent amount of flights.

Love is hit or miss though and it's not like they can fix that situation. They are smack dab in the middle of town.

Give me an example of which airport with only one TSA checkpoint handling the flights MSY handles or more that you think has better TSA service than MSY?

The current MSY sucks because you can't get between terminals. Once this is resolved, it will be much easier to eat/drink/buy stuff from all of the different vendors.

I know for a fact if DFW could figure out the spacing, they'd have one checkpoint per terminal. The design of DFW and MCI pre 9/11 hinders this.

You kidding. It’s embarrassing and outdated. It looks like a Kmart.

What makes you think that?

A is practically brand new and it has 3.

Maybe D would head in that direction.
