it is subject to public bid law at this point.

Now, he may have someone selected if nobody responds to the public bid.

They're also doing a study to learn how to "regulate strip clubs" in the French Quarter. Which is just another way of say, "we're figuring out a way to get rid of them". Goodbye New Orleans. We'll miss you.

The good news is that anybody that gets involved with this project will deserve any ill that results from their involvement

its going to be a laugh riot when nobody shows up to the pre-bid

yeah right
i would have to MAKE $100K for the BS to even be partially worth it. the GC will have to sub out the cranes/operators, and none of the crane companies are interested due to liability

They should just have city workers do it. They'll probably damage the hell of the statues.

1. alienate good contractors when times are tough
2. alienate contractors that may care about the history and take care of said Monuments
3. city hires out the worst of the worst
4.???
5. Monuments end up destroyed and not in a museum

Bitch Mitch, what a joke. Trying to pick up daddy's civil rights platform using fricking statues.

They were so right about him. I admit, I didn't realize how much of a scumbag race panderer he is.

This is ridiculous. All it does is set the precedent for future leaders to remove any monument or rename anything.

That's not going to be cool when future Mayor Whitey McWhiterson wants to rename Louis Armstrong International Airport the David Duke Departure & Destination Dispersal Dome.

Doubtful. Strip Clubs are too good for tourism to get rid of them.
