It's the biggest shite hole in a shite hole state which is an accomplishment itself.
History books in the US should have an entire chapter on Louisiana history and teach kids what not to do if you don't want to end up like them. You went from the shining jewel of the country that everyone around the world couldn't wait to see and live in to a place where most residents living there can't wait to leave.
If they're not teaching it already in school they should. How not to run a state and never fix anything over centuries. How to let everything and everyone leave.

The city elected a district attorney while he was under federal indictment. At the same time the mayor was prohibiting people from earning a living last spring and summer, she was allowing hundreds of "protesters" to gather en masse (maskless) and block traffic. The NOPD actually gave them escorts through downtown streets. The city is a joke.

I love it when Slidell and Northshore folk bitch about New Orleans. You live there because you don't want to live in Orleans Parish, fine. But you've realized where you live is so fricking boring that you've nothing else to do but go into New Orleans then complain about it.

Nola had a chance after Katrina with the federal money coming in. And in true Nola fashion we blew it. Such a waste of what could have been an amazing city/state.

Yep, I've lived here my whole life. Complete crap hole. People from New Orleans think it's the only place with dive bars and jazz. That's what they hang their hat on.

I am from BR but started UNO in 2003 not going to lie had a good time living in New Orleans, had a group of friends from school we all would go down into the quarter, or fat city and have a great time when Katrina hit in 2005 I got transferred to LSU until UNO re-opened, and I honestly decided to not return but finish at LSU… now I won’t step foot in the quarter, and fat city is little Mexico trash hole and the rest of the city is turned into even more of a trash hole, and makes me sick to my stomach any time I go anywhere in the 504… I agreed next big disaster that hits, just rope it off and use it as a trash dump it already is one

Upperline restaurant is pretty damn good, Zara’s grocery is a pretty cool quick stop grocery, and Hanson’s snowballs is a quick walk.
