As someone that once thought the same, Houston would like a word....

I second the Houston vote. Everyone in all 28 lanes of traffic drives like they are in a Mad Max remake.

They’re just trying not to get shot or car jacked. Have a little empathy ya cis-gendered shitlord.

BR has some real shitty drivers

BR area has stupid drivers.
NOLA has a-hole drivers.

You sound frightened, move to the shore.

Honolulu
I was actually impressed how good the drivers were in Honolulu given the number of tourists and congestion.
Downtown Philadelphia is like Mad Max. Most of the time I didn't know how many lanes were even on the road.

that was not my experience AT ALL
The roads are just as shitty too.
And I'm not talking about Waikiki...the intrastate system there blows in Honolulu. Super narrow highways with reduced speed limits that no one follows

Baton Rouge, north of Florida Blvd, is home to the worst drivers.
I completely dread driving on that side of town.
Oneal Lane is always a shitshow also.

with no traffic enforcement, this is the result.
Absolutely correct. Recent discussions on the New Orleans Reddit was people mentioning how some have lived here for a decade and never seen someone pulled over.
Recent NOLA.com article said they only check from DWI if someone died as a result.

Honolulu says hold my mai tai
I had heard this prior to driving on Oahu and then when I finally did, extensively, I laughed my arse off. There’s a lot of congestion but it’s downright civil compared to New Orleans.
Diving in certain parts of NOLA is basically mad max: fury road.

This has recently been happening more and weirdly more in the CBD than other areas.

that 5 mile stretch between the west bank/airport is the fricking worst 5 oclock traffic i've ever been apart of. You'll get killed trying to merge.
About 12 years ago, I used to do box truck deliveries out of lafayette and I had a route in Nola. You got used to it, but it was some of the scariest shite initially.

Everyone thinks the drivers in their own city are the worst.
If I had to rank em from best to worst:
Lake charles is the best. Mostly patient drivers, loop is a godsend. City outside of around McNeese is organized properly.
Alexandria is a blessing that you can just drive through the thing.
Lafayette is stupid for not having a interstate going through it, but it's pretty easy to bypass traffic. It's getting harder now though since they're expanding everything into carencro/scott/youngsville/broussard and traffic is a fricking mess because of it.
Baton Rouge: the bridge. LSU. the split. Perkins and college intersection. Mid city being as narrow as my urethra. frick all of it.
Nola is a fricking cespool with confusing arse roads, terrible parking, and the worst stretch of driving on i10 i've ever commercially driven on.
That's my list.

I lived in NOLA for 2 yrs and BR for one year. BY FAR Baton Rouge is just the worst place, mostly because you have an unhealthy mix of ghetto queens, street thugs, and oil field baws with truck nuts....mix in a Karen in an SUV or two and it is the perfect storm

Learning to drive in Nola gave me top notch merge into the other lane skills.

Not just New Orleans. Most of louisiana. If i go 60 in a 55. I have someone on my arse. If i speed up to 65 they still on my arse. No matter how fast you go, someone is wanting to go faster
