They’ve exploded in part because Oschner is doing the bulk of the testing in the state.

because more tests became available, this was all expected. If we made a bunch of tests available in lake Charles and Ruston and Alexandria, you would find that the virus is there too

Part of this is leading by example. Which she hasn’t exactly done in most scenarios, including this one.

How so?

For the record, I think she’s mostly an illiterate idiot in pretty much all scenarios leading up to this. But, what has she done HERE that is not “leading by example”?

Shut down all the weekend events while still holding the Mayors Ball. Stating it was a private event.

Then crawfished when called out on it.

any defiance to her orders about Saturday stemmed from when she cancelled all events in the city except hers. Now, she eventually did cancel hers, and the situation in Nola has changed a lot since that day, but the fact remains that the initial push to move forward with a big party at Tracey’s on Saturday all has to do with the fact that when she cancelled events, hers was not on the initial chopping block

Is it thought that such a shutdown of the state would include limiting free movement across state lines?

It was clear to pretty much everyone else in the world that this was an inevitability and anywhere that was a hub for tourists was highly susceptible.

My original comment wasn’t directed at you btw. Just to all of the people who were appalled earlier in the week by the “unnecessary” precautions.

Initially canceling all events except her own is a good example.

It was cancelled, though.

The idea of that event going forward was idiotic. Using that as justification to do whatever is equally, if not more so.

New Orleans don’t claim Cajun food. It’s french American and creole. It’s lights ahead of Cajun food.

Because of the backlash to her stupidity. Not out of concern on her part.

Yeah. She’s an idiot. And that’s a perfect example of shitty leadership and hypocrisy

Only after she was called out on it. Issued a statement saying it’s a private event they can do what they want and then finally caving to the pressure as “things got more serious”.

Exactly why it’s a failure in leadership. She lost their trust.

I've proposed before that we build a Wall around New Orleans.

Only because of the blowback and people calling her out for cancelling other events but not her own. If she was leading by example, she would’ve cancelled her own ball at the same time as she cancelled all the St Paddy’s day stuff....not wait for a wave of criticism and people calling out her hypocrisy before doing it

I didn’t go. Nor do I know anyone that went. I’m simply pointing out the issue.
