Guys, just ignore all the interstate shootings in the news. The interstate is 100% safe. This guy promises.

That part of NO is still really nice. You could hotwire a room in the Renaissance for $84 quite often and never leave that square mile radius once youre there.

ETA this was 2 years ago when i used to do it several times a year - things may have changed

It’s very possible there is someone out there just shooting people randomly but I think the majority of these are personal/neighborhood beef with some road rage instances as well. The idea of a “sniper” doesn’t really make sense as most of the shootings have been on elevated interstates or bridges

They're really trying to downplay that shite. NOLA.com wrote an article calling the shootings "relatively infrequent" but an accompanying chart showed there had been 26 in the last year or something.

I mean, define "infrequent"

I mean, that’s infrequent enough that I’m not canceling a field trip to the museum.

Kids more likely to catch covid and die than be shot by a serial killer on a field trip on the interstate

And I’m aware of the stats on covid

The sniper story isn’t crazy. There was that black guy in DC, who drove around shooting people from a concealed position in the trunk of a sedan.

The interstate is very unsafe, but for lots of reasons not related to a boogeyman targeting drivers with a gun.

For the record, I try not to promise anything with regards to safety in New Orleans.

And they had ballistics and witnesses to confirm it was a single shooter.

None of that here, just a bunch of fricking dumbasses chasing each other around town spraying and praying.

Correct.

And that’s not what is happening here.

Taking school kids to a gay bar is the only way to do a field trip these days it seems

Just be glad that the teachers didn't cancel classes because of the interstate shootings in NOLA

I’d like to see the school note documenting that. I’m no fan of NOLA, but I’d be willing to bet the field trip got canceled (if it actually did) more from rising fuel costs or bus driver shortage than crime concerns.

place like the WW2 museum is a place everyone should experience and learn from. That place is one saving grace in that shithole of a city.
