man...this has been one of the more frustrating threads I've participated in
I'm two pages in and it sounds like people really cannot respect OTHER PEOPLE'S CHOICES...the world revolves around them and what they want and what they like
They can't just not go to a bar that allows smoking, no they WANT TO PREVENT YOU FROM BEING ABLE TO DO SO...libs

Already explained.
you haven't explained how restricting smoking inside of private property is NOT restricting the use of private property

If I'm an idiot explain how my example with a microwave is any different than this.
It's something legal being banned in a place of private ownership.

Yes I did. Not repeating myself for you three times anymore. I made my point. Deal with it.

that's what it comes down to
people are showing that they have no problem using supporting, if not using)government to ban something they don't like
and they will even try to lie and create a "public good" as a justification (in this instance, health) to avoid admitting the truth
that's what this thread boils down to. selfish people whose beliefs aren't winning the war of ideas, so they use government as a cheat code

Look people. It's simple. I want the government to ban things I don't like. But dammit, stay out of the vices that I enjoy. Is that so hard to understand?

Good job doing anything other than being a mindless troll.

You know the city council claimed that there was no "Constitutional right" to smoke.
I say there is no Constitutional right to ban a legal activity in a private establishment.

it's not
but it's fun to watch them lie about it all and justify in other ways

Posted on 1/23/15 at 9:16 am to Festus

I would have rather the city mandate that bars need X number of those smoke ventilators per Y amount of sq. footage and stated the reasoning as employee health and safety. The outright ban is nuts.

Look man, the government is the responsible party to protect it's citizens from unhealthy activities. I want a healthier America, don't you?
Just keep your got damn hands off of my favorite vices. It's not their business to tell me what is healthy or not for me.

yeah, which is why i think bars should be restricted to selling patrons 2 drinks (of comparable alcohol content to 1 beer or shot) and patrons should be properly marked so that they are prohibited from ordering more at other bars. 2 per night is the proper limit for a healthy society
think of the children

Because America is shitting on business owners is my guess.
