Ya, if you park at the back gate get there earlier than you think. We got there at 830 and didn't make it to the flight line until like 1015. That would be my only complaint, but I'm not even complaining really..
Damn. I want to get out there as early as possible but probably won't end up heading that way until about 8. Again, excuse my ignorance but "Back Gate" = Barriere Rd entrance?
ETA: Found the map on the air show website.

Just getting back home. It was awesome!! Glad its back. It was PACKED !! The people were out today. Blue Angels were great as usual. The Shockwave truck won one race and lost one vs plane.

2 broke and ran for the spare jet #7. Then Boss broke down and jacked #3’s ride.
He confirmed to me that he got the day off lol
Meanwhile, solos killed it and looked very good for only their 2nd performance of the season.

Living at Edwards, we saw the Thunderbirds practicing almost every day. Just go out to the flight line and sit to watch. It was better when the Promotions Officer was practicing at the same time. Like a real air show.
Blue Angels, practice every Tuesday., and Wed at Pensacola NAS every week but the week of Christmas. Open to the public, paring at the Naval Aviation Museum.

Best sounding airplane humans have put in the sky. If you disagree, you can jump off a fricking bridge.
I was standing pretty close to it when they started it, and it was incredible

Heading there now with a group on a charter bus. I was there yesterday as well and it was an awesome show. If you’re looking for something to do you ought to check it out. Will not be disappointed

Vulcan.
I found a culvert and jumped the two feet to the ground.

Was Hercules retired?
You talking about the Blue Angels Support C130? AKA Fat Albert?
No, it's still around. They did get a new plane though. They took possession of a Royal Air Force C130 Super Hercules and refitted and repainted it for Blue Angels service.
She's gorgeous and did a demo before Saturday's Blue Angels demo.

I’ve been to every air show out here my whole life and I’ve never seen that before
Same here. But it was impressive to see them make the necessary changes and perform the show as nothing was missing. They changed all the group formations to accommodate for 3 planes instead of 4 but not as if there was supposed to be 4 and 1 was missing. For instance, their maneuver where normally all 4 planes would go vertical and break off in 4 directions, 90 degrees from one another, they went vertical with 3 planes and broke away 120 degrees from one another.
You can tell these guys practice for anything.
It really was a great show this year. Getting to see 3 F35 demos was crazy. The paint scheme on the F16 blew me away.
Not sure if anyone else caught this but the legacy flight with the F16 and F35 had female pilots flying both planes.

Funny either one didn’t crash with one of them applying make up, texting, talking on the phone, or playing with the radio.

It is progressing. My roof is getting changed next week. And then I will start on the inside work. I have been juggling work and did not have time to take care of my house as I liked. I finally decided to get off my arse with the nice weather to clean out my front flower garden. I have been cutting the grass and cleaning up other areas of my yard.
How are materials? How is your insurance treating you?
Neighbor has family done there. All I have heard has been nothing but horror stories. Trouble getting what they need and State Farm is f’n them (slow, lots of runaround, lots of sleepless nights)

Vulcan.
The Vulcan is a wild sounding jet. I give it a 10/10 on the creepy/intimidating scale. The howl it makes is awesome. Still don't consider it the best sounding aircraft aircraft ever. My point remains on the P-51.

That counts.

Yeah, that’s it. I get super heroes mixed up a lot. I’ve got a pretty bad arse shot of them (Angels) flying over my house during Covid not much more than 500 ft above the tree tops. It was awesome.
