Crew member: Alec Baldwin careful with guns before fatal ‘Rust’ shooting
Well, he wasn't that careful though, was he?
quote:
A camera operator told authorities that Alec Baldwin had been careful with weapons on the set of the film “Rust” before the actor shot and killed a cinematographer with a gun he’d been told was safe to use, court records released Sunday show.
Cameraman Reid Russell told a detective that Baldwin was rehearsing a scene Thursday in which he was set to draw his gun while sitting in a church pew and point it at the camera. Russell said he was unsure whether the weapon was checked before it was handed to Baldwin.
They're doing their best for someone else to take the fall..
quote:
Authorities said Friday that the assistant director, Dave Halls, had handed the weapon to Baldwin and announced “cold gun,” indicating it was safe to use. When asked about how Baldwin treated firearms on the set, Russell said the actor was very careful, citing an instance when Baldwin made sure a child actor was not near him when a gun was being discharged.

there is no such thing as an accidental discharge. It is always a negligent discharge.

Yep, in spite of what liberals tell people, guns don't fire themselves.

Mostly careful actor. Mostly peaceful protest. They never change the narrative.

I don't understand why he needs protection. I would never have thought two things: 1. The people responsible for props would have a functional gun on site, and 2. The people in charge would have live ammo within a mile of the set.
The accidental vs negligent discharge thing is one of those things that makes you gun culture nuts look really bad.

NM law clearly outlines this

One always checks for themselves.

its 2021 and Hollywood still hasn't figured out how to make safe weapon props for movies?

Advocating for common gun safety makes gun supporters look bad?
Sounds stupid when you put it into context.

Ohhh okay.

Russell said he was unsure whether the weapon was checked before it was handed to Baldwin.
So he wasn’t careful and didn’t check the chamber?

Gotta shield the kid from the evil assault weapon then simply take someone’s word that a gun isn’t hot, grab it, point it at another person, and pull the trigger.
Much firearm safety. Huge wow.

This isn't true. Had already had incidents on the set.
Had he been "careful with weapons" he would have not pulled a trigger during a rehearsal without checking the ammo.

I use to date a Britt back in the 90's. She would freak out when I would bring my pistol in her house at night so it wasn't left in my truck.
Use to tell her not to worry, I had good conversation with it and it promised not to jump up in the middle of the night and shoot her...

I don't like Alec Baldwin, but a lot of you guys are jumping on this because you're mad at him for playing Trump on SNL. Grow up.
That said, the Assistant director who handed him the gun needs to be charged with something, but ultimately, the guy who pulled the trigger is guilty. He's negligent for not checking the gun himself.
Obviously Baldwin isn't not going to get any sort of murder charges put against him, but he has to be accountable for manslaughter, for negligent homicide at the very least. He IS responsible for her death.

They're going to spin this hard to protect Baldwin and the 24-year-old girl that was the armorer.
Sounds like
Also, actors are stupid, and I bet Baldwin doesn't know shite about guns, so this is on the 24-year-old girl that was the armorer and the people who hired her.
ETA: Why would any movie or tv set ever have live rounds in the first place? That's asking for trouble.

I hate this d-bag as much as anyone, but how many actors do you think check for live rounds in their weapons on set?
