think he is basing it on the history of contracts awarded based on political connections.
Getting a contract awarded through political contacts doesn’t mean your off the hook when the building collapses. You think the person that awarded a company a contract would take the hit?

So this is how building a building works.
Architects design floor plans and aesthetics.
They hire civil engineers to design the foundation.
They hire structural engineers for the structure.
They hire mep engineers to design mechanical electrical and plumbing.
And so on and so fourth.
The owner hires a gc. Most of time with input from architects.
The gc sometimes performs some of the scopes of work, depending on how the prime contract is written. The gc or “construction manager” hires subcontractors to perform scopes ie mep, civil and structural.
The architects didn’t build the building. Who built the building?

Is it too late to add another library tax to the ballot for the 28th?

damn, I didn't know that
With allegations and innuendo flying left and right about plagiarism, backroom vote-rigging and undue political influence on what’s supposed to be an apolitical selection process, the controversy surrounding the selection of an architect for the $21 million downtown library is nearing a boiling point. There’s even talk now of an ongoing FBI investigation.
Trahan Architects principal Trey Trahan claims he lost the contract on May 19 because information meant to paint him as a plagiarist was circulated among members of the selection committee prior to the final vote. Trahan was the leading vote getter in the first round of voting by the selection committee on April 28.
Trahan’s attorney, Gray Sexton, says he’s learned the information amounted to a rendering by a Netherlands firm for the Czech Republic National Library and was said to bear a resemblance to Trahan’s conceptual design for the downtown library. The rendering was given to Parish Architect Jim Frey by local architects Trula Remson and Jerry Hebert, Sexton says. For a side-by-side look at the designs, click here. (Trahan’s rendering is on the left)

Not to mention, this project went to bid.

Well we don’t really know if it was faulty design, faulty material, faulty geotechnical data, faulty construction, or what at this point.

Tell you what. When someone besides the taxpayer pays for this. Bump the thread. I will be contrite and admit my mistake.

Thank you.
Some lawyer gonna get paid.
This is going to take a long time to figure out who is at fault.
There’s going to be a lot of “you should’ve known that this would happen” finger pointing between the design and construction team.
