This all true. And also anyone saying Alexandria is the worst place to live in the state is full of shite. Is there anything special about it no nor should anyone go out of their way to live there but people talking shite need to visit the third world slums in New Orleans before ragging on Alex.

The new brewery Huckleberry is pretty nice and they usually have weekend events

Seems like a cool spot just in such a shite area over there as is most of the stuff around the mall.

I have some friends that buy kegs from there for their home setups.

Yeah the location sucks but it's separated enough from the rest of that area to do well. It's also right off MacArthur. Beer is good too.

I'd really like to see the coliseum and Versailles area continue to grow. In my opinion, that's the only decent part of alexandria left.

You won’t ever be able to see them. Since the installation of the lock and dams on the river

Living in Alexandria is like living in Louisiana without any of the redeeming qualities Louisiana has to offer. I guess being close to Toledo Bend is a plus.

I grew up in a small town a parish over from Alex, so basically in Alex by default. I now (temporarily have to) live Uptown in Nola, besides walking around, traffic, Lebanese/greek restaurants, and museums I am failing to see what redeeming qualities its missing. I love New Orleans, I love Alex, why can't people just love the good and recognize the bad for what it is everywhere in La.

But then again, I don't really try to make a habit of comparing apples to bowling balls.

Haven’t tried it yet. Have heard it’s pretty good beer though. Location definitely isn’t ideal.

Last time I went to Alex on 28 through Deville it looked like it was growing as well on the Pineville side too. That new pizza joint over there was pretty good, I can't remember the name at the moment, but it'd be worth going to again.

Jim Deggy’s pizza and it is really good. It’s a brick oven joint.

Started out as a food truck and grew into a brick and mortar place.

I’m really surprised that Pineville hasn’t gotten better now that they can sell alcohol there.

Did a tornado go through there or something? I was in Alexandria for a playoff game, and I passed their baseball park, and it looked dilapidated

Yes a tornado hit the Johnny Downs complex. Then we had two hurricanes since.

Certain restaurants weren't allowed because of them but that was 20+ years ago. See any strip clubs around anymore?

Oh boy, here's a guy that judges the livability of a place by the bars and strip clubs that are there. You have no clue as to the criminal element that is attracted to an area specifically because of these businesses. Research Bufford Pusser.

Feel better now? Not judging anything. Alex has plenty of the criminal element without strip clubs. You have no clue about Alexandria, better to shut your penis inhaler than keep speaking out of your arse, Poindexter.
