I've been at the company i work for almost 16 years. I was recently asked for a resume by a friend who presented it to his Operations Manager. Now, that company has asked me to come to an interview next Wednesday.
Although i have thought about finding a new job the last few years I am sick to my stomach. Does this happen to anyone else? Or am i a freak.

It's normal to feel uneasy about leaving a job you've been at for a long time. Fear of the unknown. Will you like the new job? What will the job security be like? Can you see a future there? There are many questions involved.

Why have you thought about finding a new job recently?

Nothing wrong with bettering you position in life if the right opportunity presents itself.

Scared mcdonalds will hold burger king against you?

I wouldn't worry about it unless they offer you the job.

If they offer you more money just take it on the spot. You only YOLO once.

Completely normal. Went back to school two years ago and left my old job of 25 years. Got hired as a chemical operator 3 months ago. Pull the trigger if the situation is right.

I'm not with you on the nervousness over the interview itself.
But I can relate to the stress of arranging to be out of the office and handling the logistics of having that day looming ahead.

I've not been in an interview situation in 16 years! I guess it just has me messed up.

Just be confident in the interview. If it's in the same field that you have been for 16 years you may know more than the interviewer. I
