I live in San Antonio and it feels like the case here. Note. I live in the best part of town, but it doesn’t matter once you leave the bubble.

The drivers are so ridiculously bad and I see homeless every day on my drive to work. I get that it’s not so bad compared to other places but it sure would be nice to live in some small town in the mountains…

Sure, but unless you work from home where are you finding a job in a nice town in the mountains to afford a house in a nice town in the mountains?

You have no fricking idea what you’re talking about

Are you trying to say youngsville/broussard is nice? Or is there something else I don’t know what I’m talking about?

Once this was called out, it went from being about crime to instead being about downtown walking malls and paid public toilets. Lol.

I think it still stands. What small towns in Louisiana other than madisonville/Mandeville aren’t totally wasted out shells of what they once were (which guess what = crime)?

Unless you mean the arse to tits subdivisions in Broussard/youngsville?

They are probably trashy but also don’t have a ton of crime.

I’ve never seen a place that was trashy and safe.

The “Virginia hunt country” seems like a great place.

Its absolutely not full, just expensive. If I can ever afford it (which is extremely doubtful) I would love to own some land out there.

Weird. Here in VA (at least where we are) so many of the farms are beautiful and seem really well kept up. My in laws always comment on them. Otherwise I hadn’t noticed. Apparently 4 board fences = $$. I always cringe when we go back to LA and see the mountains of rusted farm equipment and sheet metal sheds all over the place.

We were just in Middleburg last weekend. It is an incredible place to visit. Impossible to live unless you are uber rich so we just visit. It’s about a half an hour from us.

Virginia is where the elites and 1st born sons stayed, the 2nd born sons and so on, plus the poors, had to keep trekking west over time.

Thus, you have Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Arkansas, etc.

And Virginia.

grew up in Bogalusa. Played rec ball at all the community fields in town. Walked and rode bikes all over that place. How do you think I feel?

Isn’t bogalusa pretty wasted out now?

I was able to convince my wife to move back to my home and no regrets. I always make sure to check in on her how she feels about it and as I said earlier she’s more sold on staying here than I am so to speak. However I rage against the liberal NOVA yuppies which are most of my friends from childhood
