Look like apartment buildings that someone had a last minute idea to make into single family dwellings.
That's exactly what happened. Even if someone wanted to move there, why would they dare park any vehicle they own in an open driveway? A garage would at least be semi-secure.

I can't knock this developer for actually taking action instead of just talking about it. Hope it helps this community.

Better housing should theoretically improve a human's self-worth, thus improving their abilities to become meaningful members of society.

Should have lost that granite island and given them a garage so they could actually protect their shite.

That's what I was thinking. Lockable, secure storage would be a must.

Five of the houses are market-rate, while the other 14 are affordable housing
Why would someone want to pay full market rate to live where 2/3 of their neighbors are on subsidized housing? This never goes well and the people who pay market rate end up seeing their property value go to shite

Those houses won't help fix shite and are a waste of money. SWB absolutely knows this, but won't admit it.

That's exactly why these programs don't work. The people that can afford a mortgage on a $140k house don't want to live in Zion City. They eventually just turn to strictly section 8 or rent controlled and rapidly decline.

You don't think the actual market is tied into the price of the house?

You have two identical units next door to each other that have different prices and you think that it is?!

well the percentage of people that would do this and try and frick up their own community out of jealousy and lack of respect need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent.
But this won't happen.
I'm happy for the few families that get these homes & sincerely hope the project works.
I have my doubts though

Who decides who gets these homes? The good reverend? The relatives of local politicians?
