DR Horton is utter garbage. I’m sure some folks on here own DR Horton but those houses/neighborhoods will not be worth a damn in 10-15 years.

DSLD is better, but not the best.

Wow that is awful. I was prepared to go $150 per square foot but not $200.

Sorry to bust your bubble. I was being generous with the $200 per square. You're most likely looking at around $220 per square. Either way, it will be well above $150.

You hit the PowerBall? Material cost are insane right now.

That's what I was wondering. We just got our last bid in yesterday. For a 2500 living 4100 total we were bid 725,000.

Thats up almost 200k from the last bid we got in right after the strom

Edit to say this is in central lafourche area where prices are usually much cheaper than baton rouge area.

Not much man, work and little one. About to make the move to TX so I feel your pain some.

A buddy who is a contractor priced out his house at 310k about 4-5 months ago. He waited to finish a flip he was doing. Priced the exact same house again this week, 504k. shite is nuts.

Prices are about to get much worse. I am currently building and have ordered as much as I could already. A/C units are going up 20% April 1st, material for stainless steel 60% in the next couple weeks, and anything with nickel is about to skyrocket and be out of stock for a while. Couple that with rising interest rates, and not sure if there will be a great time to build anytime soon. My original quote was. 202/ft but we cut some stuff. If I got exactly what I wanted and did no work myself, it would probably be around 220/ft not including property.

Telich and Scheffy by a long shot in BR.

I can tell you who NOT to use for a custom home build in BR or the Northshore, is J Hand Homes. Buyer beware!!
