Employer Covid-19 Vaccine and Testing Rules Unveiled by Biden Administration

Wall Street Journal

Many employers will have to ensure by early 2022 that their workers are vaccinated or tested weekly for Covid-19 under a set of new vaccine requirements by the Biden administration that will cover more than 80 million employees.

The requirements released Thursday by the Labor Department implement a vaccine directive that President Biden announced in September. They take effect Jan. 4 and apply to employers with 100 or more employees. While the administration has said the requirements are necessary to curb the Covid-19 pandemic, they have drawn opposition from many Republicans.

Companies subject to the rules must ensure that employees who aren’t vaccinated against Covid-19 produce a negative test at least weekly and wear a mask in the workplace. Employers aren’t required under the new policy to provide or pay for tests, with potential exceptions if collective bargaining agreements compel them to do so.

Employers who don’t adhere to the requirements could face penalties of up to around $13,600 per violation.

I'm team Pfizer....but I'm more than a little uncomfortable with sweeping, authoritarian mandates and fines imposed on employers that are designed to hit the livelihoods of people who choose not to get the vaccine. It's not the government's business IMO, but that's probably just my age talking.

But be prepared. If your company hasn't communicated these new requirements to you yet, they are coming by January 4th of 2022. Otherwise they are paying a hefty fine for every single violation.

I took the shot based on my own homework. But I hope all the ones that chose not to take it fight this until the end.

Stand strong and to hell with Government.

The government mandate is kicking in for a couple of projects that we are on. We're doing a survey of our employees to find out who is and who isn't vaccinated. While we as a company are not mandating that our employees get vaccinated we are complying with the federal mandate and only putting vaccinated employees on those projects.

That's just the first of the gray in the OSHA ETS. There's so many work arounds based on the verbiage I just read. I deal with OSHA regularly, they're going to have their hands full with this one.

A pandemic so deadly that a vaccine mandate can get pushed back 2 months for political convenience

If they are under 100 employees, they might not get harassed. At least not about this.

frick off Joe. I don’t give a shite if my employees have the covid shot or not, neither should the federal government.

How about lower our federal taxes and discuss that pandemic.

It’s about money for the money players

But what y’all are missing is this: this is all aimed at an INTENTIONAL COLLAPSE of our country

And those same money players are milking it dry while moving assets in place to capitalize on the rebuild post collapse

We all better wake up here

There is so much truth to this.

I hope those who are vehemently opposed to mandates stand firm. frick Biden and everyone who voted for him. It's almost like the democrats in Washington slept through Tuesday night. It will only lead to their demise in the mid terms and hopefully in 2024.

whichever prpgressive that writes this and thinks its the best way to go needs to be fired immediately, but wont...and it will cost his administration and party in the long run.

ETA - I had covid after getting the shot, the narrative about non immunized people costing others is complete and total load of horseshite
