Anyone have a go-to place to see what new construction is happening in BR? There is some new construction behind the Racetrac on Bluebonnet and Burbank and then some more on Burbank near Staring. Just curious what's going on at these locations.

No one is going to tell you anything until after contracts are signed.

And even then they wont say anything until the signs go up ans you already know by driving by

This guy Matthew Morris of Complete Construction got a federal contract to build subsidized housing in those areas. I hear he's quite the Christian and wants to end homelessness.

Does Baton Rouge's office of Planning have a website?

You might be able to sort through blueprints for proposed projects if you can find them.

If you are really curious, go down the planning commission and/ore permit office and pull it up. They are pretty helpful..sometimes.

Nice website. Don't know how the info is compiled, but our firm has at least half a dozen projects under construction that are not on there. A comprehensive list would require multiple sources downtown.

Permit office is your best shot for a commercial permit such as would be required at the location in question. Planning Commission will only have info on projects that were required to get planning approval, which is not all projects.

I was wondering what they were building on North and 6th downtown.

I thought it would have been a Top Golf/Dave and Busters/Buc-ees hybrid but I guess I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up.

I see they are building a Shrimp Basket in Baton Rouge. Will this be the first in BR? They do pretty good in Florida/Alabama.
