All these new ceiling fans, Hampton Bay, Hunter el al only operate with a paired remote, no main off/on toggle or pull string. They know the average person like me will lose that stupid remote 10 times over a 10-year period, and hence they have a constant revenue stream in overpriced accessories. The Apple model of fvckery thievery. No money in the cure as Chris Rock said, here's a pill to just live with it.

So buy cheaper, they can't make you not lose things.

100 bucks, 20 minutes to install, and I can control it through Alexa. Just replaced one a month ago and thinking about replacing them all

And for the first month I keep it there, then summer arrives and I take it to the night stand for quicker access. Then it gets lost and Hunter has a sucker customer aka Tomato for the next 10-15 yrs.

I’d just like a fan to move air like it’s a P-51 Mustang prop. Is that too much to ask?

Doesn't happen when you have a wife (no pics). You are not allowed to get the cheap stuff. They all watch those Chip & Joanna shows and want that new age sleek crap.

Hell, I had to buy a water heater with a control panel that looks like it can launch a nuclear warhead. They couldn't get a plain Jane one for a few days. I really, really don't need my water heater to talk to my phone. The leak detection is nice, though, assuming it still works if/when it ever leaks.

I am 46 years old and I have never lost a ceiling fan remote in my life. Not once. It amazes me some of you can walk around not shitting yourself and just drooling over other adults in public.

I mounted mine on the wall by my night stand within arms reach from where I sleep. Wife can’t mess with the fan and it doesn’t get lost

Velcro the remote to a coffee table.

If I'm not busting my knuckles searching for the pull-down chain on the ceiling fan, I don't want any part of it.

Thanks for the advice, this will be my new strategy when the Hunter remote comes in through Prime on Friday. I'm mounting it on my side of the night stand so my wife doesn't move it to God knows where and my son doesn't steal it to pair with his Hunter.

Get a Hunter original. They aren’t cheap but they’re built like tanks and the lifetime warranty is legit.

Legit question. I like the beachy type sound it makes on high while in bed surfing TD especially when listening to some chill music like Van Morrison Into The Mystic or Otis Redding Dreams To Remember, but then I have to drop it to medium then low the closer I get to actually dozing off. That's just my routine helped by the sounds of a good ceiling fan, I know others have their own groove and style.
