I believe that is a old world style of marketing and is quickly becoming outdated.
Many times women believe that "It might look good on that model but it wouldn't look good on me due to my skin tone/ my body shape".
Seeing a "real" girl look good in those clothes helps them see it will look good on them as well.

I think it’s awesome. Doesn’t make me want to buy their shite, but props to them for making those types of people feel represented, even if they are only after their money.
