Yeah, pretty much what they’re trying to do is get you to wipe out at least 96 hours of PTO over 3 months. They’re not giving anyone any PTO. If you go negative, you have to pay that back as you accrue, up to 40. If you use up all your PTO as you accrue it, you’re about to be fricked.

Yeah, but that’s probably true for most big corporations. I hope it doesn’t come to that. But I’m guessing that’s the next step.

Can’t feel sorry for Ochsner. I think they misuse their non-profit status.
Sponsorship of the Saints, multiple suites at the Superdome, etc.
All with no accountability due to the non-profit designation.
I feel sorry for the employees getting screwed by Ochsner.

heard a guy on the radio today saying that some hospital systems make something like 50-60% of the cash doing elective procedures. I may be off on my figures, but it was a huge amount.
Maybe your shouldn’t base your business model off telling people to get things they don’t neeed.
Time for executives and businesses to be more prudent and creative as opposed to persuading people into optional costly decisions

I don’t think you know what they mean by “elective procedure”

Damn. That’s harsh. But I guess better than laying them off.

Let me just tell you first hand they are making no exceptions. I’m due in 8 weeks and they are making me use majority of my saved pto before Maternity leave starts.

Sorry to hear Sammich. My fiancée is a nurse there. When she first got the news, she wasn’t sure what to think. Thankfully we’re not child bearing.

All Ochsner salary employees still getting paid 100%
They are forcing 32 hours of pto a month. People still get paid full salary even when all pto is used.
I guess people would rather get fired or paycuts?

If you are hourly, and your hours get cut, well that sucks. But that’s happened already for a lot of our employees unfortunately

Corporate shill gonna corporate shill. The lack of some.commom sense exceptions to this policy is Extremely cringey for a company that's all about being a family.

Forced to use all GPT over the next 3 months. Once we run out, we keep going until we "owe" 40 hours. They said that GPT is a liability and our debt/asset ratio is wrecked because people aren't taking time off.
Slightly more to it, but this is the main reason

Dude it sucks. But we could be like the 1000s of hospitals having massive paycuts or layoffs
Ask Caterpillar, he works for one of the biggest healthcare systems in America and he had to take a big paycut
HCA, Cleveland clinic, etc giving paycuts and not making 401k contributions
I think you wanted the shutdown as well. This is part of it man
