I doubt very many people are watching the classic stuff. At least not enough to make it worth the hassle of digitizing and uploading everything. Youtube is the best place for all that stuff.

Like someone said before, WWE Vault can scratch the itch sometimes; but on Peacock you could even go back and watch some old Mid-South when you wanted. It’s not the same.

Yes!
Wrestling sucks now
Those were the flow try years…even though I knew it was fake by then

Should never have sold them the content
Frankly the best way to watch wrestling now is with a VPN connection through Canada. All PPVs are on Netflix. Raw, Smackdown (live on Friday afternoons when in Europe), and NXT air with very few commercials. The library is on YouTube (along with Evolve).

Triple H drove the WWE straight into the ground. A guy who married his way to the top. Bret Hart was right about him

quote:They did that already and was available the day the WWE Network launched - pretty much had the entire televised histories of WWF/E, WCW/WCCW/NWA, ECW, etc on demand through their network. It was literally as easy as selecting the company, selecting the show they aired or ppv special, then scrolling through the years. They would add recent Raw and Smackdowns six weeks after the original air date, and the PPV's were aired on the network and were available immediately after the show.

I made mention that I would have kept that network for $30/month instead of Vince selling it all to NBC.

the WCW story lines were fine but the actual wrestling sucked.
unless you were talking about Rey Mysterio or Eddie Guerrero or Chris Benoit.
they wasted Bret Hart when he went there.
Goldberg would always get those huge pops but he only had what two moves the spear and the jackhammer and then that stupid standing sidekick that basically ended Bret Hart's career

I still don't understand why they feel the need to give all the library out for another company to run
It’s all about the money, actual paying customers only matter when it comes to executives figuring out how to nickel and dime those people a little more. It’s getting pretty damn close to wanting the old days of cable/satellite back. The train of streaming isn’t slowing down and I believe without a shadow of a doubt that things like paying for single NFL games on whatever streaming service, local market teams be damned, isn’t that far away.

Just you mentioning that probably got him going somewhere. He was great, but he’s without a doubt the most bitter retired wrestler out there. Always negative, I don’t know if I’ve come across him being positive about anything from that era.

Goldberg drew more at his peak than Bret did in his career. The Georgia Dome sold out to watch Goldberg jackhammer Hogan. You’re absolutely right that WCW fumbled Bret bigly though.

One of the greatest to ever do it.

Bret IMO(aside from Naitch) is the GOAT.

The original network was tGOAT. I get money talks but it's a damn shame what has become of it. They really did it right

Bischoff blew his load too early and only focused on the “now” stars instead of looking toward the future. Once those older guys started aging out, they had no plan. They had guys like Benoit (I know I know), Eddie, and Jericho in their back pocket and they ignored what they could do. And then you throw in Russo and good God what a disaster. As mad as Bret was, he should’ve been smart enough to know the shite show they were running down there.

The problem isn't HHH. The problem is the helicoptering Dwayne, Shapiro, and Ari approach that screws everything up. They're still trying to recover from Dwayne's bullshite that tainted Cena's final run.

Exactly. Look at WM in April for proof of that.
When he's left to his own devices and able to do his job, Trips does a pretty damn good job.

Without a doubt, he took the crown that Ole Anderson held until he passed.

I loved that about it though, they had excellent undercard matches and good storylines. When I've gone back to watch the vault, the WWF's undercard is almost unwatchable

I was thinking more of the territory footage they own. I've watched some Crockett stuff on the WCW youtube channel but those are getting millions or even hundreds of thousands of views. The type of people that want to watch Crockett, AWA, Mid South, etc are mostly old and can't keep up with that content jumping between different streaming services every few years. Just leave it on youtube and forget about it.
