Netflix has better TV exclusives IMO.

You mean they have better original content. Amazon is creating their own content too but they just haven't had a hit yet.

Prime has TONS more BBC content.

Plus Justified.

I've watched Justified, Larry Sanders, The Good Life, Fringe (Before Netflix had it), West Wing (Before Netflix had it), All of the Stargate shows which were taken off Netflix.

Planes & Trains, which wasn't on Flix until this year. Christmas Vacation. Downton Abbey.

It was nice to marathon several seasons of Amazing Race I didn't watch when they originally aired. For people who like Reality TV, Prime has far more content than FLix. Heck, I am not sure Flix has any.

That is just some of what I watched this past year.

And most of that BBC stuff on Netflix is also on Prime.

Nitpicky? I think the list shows pretty diverse taste not nitpicky. I was just listing what I watched on Prime recently. Which I watched because they weren't on Netflix.

I said I use both services. I didn't even endorse Prime over Netflix. I stated the fact that they have a ton of stuff not on Netflix which is why I have both.

I prefer the netflix interface and I like how the player moves straight to the next episode.

yea and netflix has stuff prime doesn't.

I'm with you, I use them both because between the two of them I can usually find what I'm wanting without buying anything else.

I never saw Lost when it was on TV. Ii was cool to watch all the seasons for free when I first got Amazon Prime.

Netflix Pros - More HD content. More original content and that content has been solid. More closed captioning which I need from time to time with my bad ears. Better interface and the player smoothly transitions to the next episode which Prime does not do. Easier to move between seasons. No annoying 1 CLICK PURCHASE BUTTON ALL OVER THE PLACE.

Prime Pros - Free 2nd Day shipping and and equal amount of content to Netflix. Long term Amazon also has deeper pockets to survive.

If the original content isn't a deal breaker and if you use Amazon for purchases, then Prime is the way to go.

Or don't be a tightwad and buy both.

I have both but am seriously thinking I'll drop Netflix before long. I initially subscribed to Amazon Prime because of my Kindle Fire HD purchase.

The free two day shipping benefit perk is nice and I save enough in shipping to more than pay for my subscription.

I'm likely going to drop Netflix as I feel it has a better selection and we can watch movies that still require payment, albeit a minimal amount. We recently tried to find a movie on Netflix, but it was only available through mail subscription. When we checked Amazon Prime, it was already available for streaming with a minimal payment of $2.99. It'll likely be no additional charge in a few weeks, but we had the choice to pay and be able to watch that one movie rather than upgrade our entire annual subscription with Netflix.

There was an HBO sitcom that the most recent season was not yet available on Netflix, but the entire season was ready for streaming on Amazon Prime with no additional charge.

I'm sure there are a few shows available on Netflix that aren't on Amazon Prime and, if we miss it that bad, I can always subscribe again.

I stream Amazon via airplay from my phone to my apple tv and the picture flat out sucks. Netflix from my apple tv is 10x better.

If anyone knows how to improve my amazon stream, please let me know.

What HBO series was free? They're pretty strict with their content. They want everyone to use HBOGo.

They don't have as much HD content as Netflix. Some of the video is actually old school 10 year old vhs tape quality bad.

Other than Larry Sanders, I've never seen any HBO content outside of HBO Go.

This is the case for me as well, though I have watched a couple of videos on Amazon.

Must have been a Showtime series. To me HBO means any premium channel, just like every soft drink is a Coke. We quit getting premium channels ages ago so I don't keep up with that. Not sure which network this was from...nonetheless, it wasn't available on Netflix for weeks. We'd watched the entire season before Netflix had it available.

Poor. Deciding between about 23 dollars a month over the year versus 8 or so. Critical decision indeed
