Got one pair last week, but am still waiting on even an email for the other. Even though the same address, they're in different names. Ready to get them all!!

Did you go to the FSU game in 1982? I remember the fans throwing oranges after LSU scored then throwing them at everyone after the game as the fans stormed the field. One of the coolest game experiences ever!

I was there and it sure was fun. The oranges were thrown at the field, not aimed at humans. Yes, a few people probably got hit but that was in the days before abundant liability lawsuits.

I don't recall the oranges being thrown at people, so that must have been after we left or only/mostly in the student section?

People were sneaking alcohol in back then as well. I was a middle school kid in the 90s and remember seeing fights in the stands. So no, IMHO it was never a wholesome event.

I've been attending since the late 60's, when I didn't understand what a first down was (yes, I'm old LOL) Adults consumed much alcohol while tailgating and cops directing traffic would often indulge in the delicious food and beverages.

My parents and their friends ALWAYS had flasks, but the routine was to STOP at halftime, allowing time to sober up somewhat and drive home.

Participating in a fight was a no-brainer for getting thrown out of the stadium.

Parents dressed in suits and ties and dresses and high heels, especially homecoming (which usually included corsages, even for the young daughters).

Drinks were NEVER tossed at the field or other attendees. Besides messing up the nice clothing and hairdos, it was a waste of good liquor.

While tailgating, kids could roam campus freely (no cell phones) without a worry of today's dangers. I loved those simpler times...Take me back to Mayberry!

They are just gonna start blasting more piped in music over the students whenever they chant. STTDB is just going to kill more of the band's participation that they love so much. However it doesnt bother me at all. Carry on.

If you mean blasting louder music over the student section doesn't bother you, I concur. I let other family members and friends use most of my tickets and attend select games. Didn't care for the loud music at first, but if that's what it takes to keep vulgarities at a minimum, I'm all for it.

Hate that the band would be a lost awesome tradition, but if that's what it takes, I'm all for it.

Sad...

There were obscenities, mostly from drunks. There was no organized obscene cheer, except for Go to Hell, Ole Miss, Go to Hell.

That's all we expected to hear, and only that one game. Drunks shouting obscenities would be escorted out if someone reported/complained and they continued with security observing.

We sat near the student section, so we heard most of what they chanted. The traditional "Tiger Bait" chant when the opposing team would enter the field was replaced with "Boo"...tacky, but not obscene.

One year, the cheerleaders started to cheer, "Shove it! Shove it! Shove it on across that line big Tigers!" That was just asking for the obvious replacement of "shove it on up their *** big Tigers", which started before the first game ended. I think they tried it one more game and the substitution was made, so the cheer was done away with after that.

As a teenager I thought it was funny, but not the grown ups. I can only imagine how that generation would react to today's chants.

Same here. No problem with commercials, but sound comes and goes with game.

Variety...
Must have been a Showtime series. To me HBO means any premium channel, just like every soft drink is a Coke. We quit getting premium channels ages ago so I don't keep up with that. Not sure which network this was from...nonetheless, it wasn't available on Netflix for weeks. We'd watched the entire season before Netflix had it available.

I have both but am seriously thinking I'll drop Netflix before long. I initially subscribed to Amazon Prime because of my Kindle Fire HD purchase.

The free two day shipping benefit perk is nice and I save enough in shipping to more than pay for my subscription.

I'm likely going to drop Netflix as I feel it has a better selection and we can watch movies that still require payment, albeit a minimal amount. We recently tried to find a movie on Netflix, but it was only available through mail subscription. When we checked Amazon Prime, it was already available for streaming with a minimal payment of $2.99. It'll likely be no additional charge in a few weeks, but we had the choice to pay and be able to watch that one movie rather than upgrade our entire annual subscription with Netflix.

There was an HBO sitcom that the most recent season was not yet available on Netflix, but the entire season was ready for streaming on Amazon Prime with no additional charge.

I'm sure there are a few shows available on Netflix that aren't on Amazon Prime and, if we miss it that bad, I can always subscribe again.

Brake Service?

Posted by Audi on 1/4/14 at 6:24 pm
My 2007 Buick's "Have ABS Serviced" and "Have Traction Control Serviced" lights both came on yesterday. I noticed a little grind when backing out and turning the steering wheel, but nothing else any other time I use the brakes.

Anyone have a place to recommend to check this out and service?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
