Neighbors who leave their sprinklers on in freezing weather

Idiots!
2 days in a row in Dallas overtime lows are in the teens and daytimes highs barely reach freezing.
2 mornings in a row I’m walking my dog and discover different neighbors who forgot to turn off their sprinkler system and froze their entire yard and sidewalk

You dumb enough to think that freezing kills grass?

Doesnt a little water/ice actually protect plants?

I drive by a church that has this issue but the water gets onto the road. That church should be liable for anything bad that happens as a result of them freezing the road.

I think a little does but not when you soak your whole yard and turn it into an ice rink

You do realize people do this on purpose, don't you?

Well when there’s ice all over the sidewalk and into the street it becomes everyone’s “biz”

Running your sprinklers to prevent the irrigation system from freezing and bursting. A thin layer of ice also protects plants, citrus farmers literally spray their trees when it gets around freezing.

When i was little my dad did this on purpose for us kids. We had a blast playing on it.

You guys are acting like my neighbors are botanists...
They have auto set sprinklers that go off at the same time every week, they forgot to turn it off and soaked their yard, which is now a nice sheet of ice.
They didn’t “spray their trees”

Nope. Still not your biz

I realize they likely didn't do it on purpose, but people do. So them doing it on accident is not nearly the dumbassery you tried to make it out to be.
