Put up a large pole in the yard with a lightening rod on it. Make sure the pole is higher than the roof of the house.

My grandfather's 1920s vintage house in Texas had several lightning rods.

The very first homeowner's policy sold in the US covered fire and lightening only. It is a staple in almost every property and casualty policy.
