- discuss it with them

antifreeze hotdogs sound a lot easier than all that.

If my dog barks a couple of times in the backyard in the middle of the afternoon I feel bad
Can’t imagine letting them do that all morning starting at the crack of dawn.

quote:This. I have a generally good neighbor behind me and we would visit each others' houses until one night my daughter called me from where she was staying at a friend's house and she had fallen and cut her forehead. In my haste to leave, I left my Corgi outside. When I returned home, the police were there checking on my house because the neighbor behind me called them to complain about my barking dog. The dude had my cell phone number and could have called me, but he chose to call the police. That was a dick move and I cut off my communication with him.
Have dealt with this a few times.

Given the consistent time, it is possible that some critter is coming up at that time to eat outside cat or dog food.

What an inconsiderate take. Everyone else shouldn’t have to deal with it because your dog is a nuisance.

non stop barking for long periods of time is a nuisance.
One occasionally barking outside doesnt deserve to get poisoned or shot. Some of yall have untreated psychopathy

My nextdoor neighbor in college had a dog that would bark loud as hell right next to my bedroom window every morning starting at like 5 am. After going to talk them about it, nothing changed, so I put a bluetooth speaker outside on my window. Whenever the dog started barking I would turn on a 10 hour loop of a high pitched whistle until it stopped, it worked pretty well. They called the cops on me for it but he didn't give a shite and said I was within my rights.
Don't poison the dog, some a-hole fed an anti-freeze hotdog to my dog (and 16 others in the neighborhood) when I was kid, it suffered badly for 3 days before dying. I still wish I could return the favor to the person responsible.

The OP said it is non stop barking before people get up. Also, I never said anything about killing the dog. I said the OP shouldnt have to just deal with it like you said.

When I get enough of it, I yell from the patio, to "SHUT THE F*CK UP!" and it usually does for 30 minutes or so.
I laughed entirely too hard at this.

can you elaborate more on this supposed notification systme that would inform the neighbors you complained? I want to hear more about this.
You seem hung up on this detail. OP was also making the point that even if anonymous, the neighbor would still know it was them. They have already spoken to the husband. Even without having spoken to them first, people can generally assume with a high degree of accuracy who has complained just due to proximity to the offending house (closer neighbor = likelier to complain than another).

i am hung up on it because it sounds so outlandish it's almost hard to believe it's accurate.

of course, that makes perfect sense. If dog owner got a generic form letter from the HOA OBVIOUSLY they would be able to guess who made the complaint. I totally get that and don't deny that one bit. I am simply curious about this alleged system they have that details who has made a complaint.

Run for HOA board.
Or take it to a higher power -- the Pool Committee.

Spray it with a hose. Every morning.
