If you stand on the fireplace you can see a good bit of the city.

That's not what I was thinking when you said firepit. Not excusing them calling the cops, but that is very high up and right over their property, assuming that's their house on the other side behind the firepit and wall.

Yup - he might as well be standing on their fence.

It's a creeper move. When he grows up he won't climb on things like that anymore.

Since they are paranoid about you on the fireplace, stick a folding tailgate chair up there. You'd don't have to sit in it, it's mere presence will keep them occupied.

Then after a couple of days, take one of those extendable aluminum ladders and lean it up against the fence. Not super noticeable, just with the top sticking up enough for them to know what it is.

Considering the 8' cinderblock fence, how did they see you taking pictures the first time?

You were standing up there before, weren't you?

Meh. I assumed he was standing up on the hearth area just to get his head over the wall. Not on top of the actual fireplace.

And he just moved into the house. I'd want to look at the view and take a few photos.

Introduce yourself. Tell them although you prefer working with young teens, you are available to babysit the daughter. Also, tell them if they will let you know when they will be out of town you will watch their house for them because you can see right in their bedrooms from your firepit

Yeah, it's not like he's in Baton Rouge where standing on your fence you'll only see trees. He's in some sort of valley in Arizona with a mountain view! I can't even imagine what it looks like.

In fact, OP, post pics of the view.

We have a pool. I like to enjoy the pool in privacy, which is why we have a privacy fence. If my new neighbor (who really does annoy me) stood on something and peered into our backyard, I would be one unhappy neighbor. I wouldn't call the cops, but if it happened more than once, I would have to say something. And I am not a confrontational person.

Maybe, but isn't this a pot calling the kettle black situation. They obviously have eyes on him all thetime if they rreact so quickly.

Op absolutely must put a folding chair on the fire place

And BTW... Looks like a lovely backyard.

Start pissing off your back porch every morning, since they are so interested in what you are doing.
