What percentage can I expect to receive off "sticker price"? 20%? Surely even OT ballers don't pay sticker......

OT ballers buy jewelry via wholesale

My importer is out of the country until after the holidays, alas I must mingle amongst commoners.

20%?
that's a whole hell of a lot off. Was thinking more like 5%

When I bought my wife's engagement ring, it was around 10% off and no tax if I paid in cash (another 8.75%)

Historically jewelers have the highest percentage markup among retailers.

Doris at Anton's is terrible. Just an FYI. If you go there and get her, request someone else.

i mean
because there's no room for negotiation in a product that typically has 90% margin.

I'm looking for a percentage Amazon boy. I understand the margins involved.

Makes sense considering De Beers basically controls the world's diamond market. 5 grand for a diamond that 3 children died to find? I'm buying every time.

Once I saw that perfect diamond for my bride I just knew I had to have it.

I agree the whole concept is moronic, but how else is your wife gonna flaunt her husband's OT wealth?

i married a woman who doesn't buy into the made-up idea that ugly pieces of carbon buried in africa have value.
instead we spend money on vacations and houses and food that can actually be enjoyed.
can you truly 'enjoy' a diamond
prior to a slick marketing campaign in the 1940s, the idea of a diamond on every bride's finger didn't exist.

You should come to Carter Jewelers in Jackson. The guy is always having a fire, flood, or some event that results in the lowest prices ever offered.
