We've used him in BR and Nola and he's great.

It will take them longer than 1 hour to get there with the traffic...

Prepare for every house wife with a $600 kit camera from Costco to apply for the position. She took pictures of her kids soccer team last year and is totally qualified.

FWIW, I have done professional photography for years. Product photography in the studio and specialty set pieces ("action" scenes of products). I have had national magazine covers. There is NO WAY I would accept money to do something like this. Event photography, especially weddings, is such a specialized beast that only people with years of experience doing it should be accepting payment.

This guy is probably right. Go with someone who has a look that you (or likely the bride) is wanting. Make sure you can see their work and plenty of it.

Aaron Hogan is a tremendous photographer and is creative AF. Check out his portfolio on the website and know he will put you in your best possible light.

He is also an excellent teacher if you are wanting to learn.

I didn’t know she was a photographer but I can 100% vouch for her taste. T Bob is a treasure.

This. I got roped into shooting a wedding about 28 years ago, and I never accepted another wedding gig again. And brides everywhere rejoiced.

This is who we used for our wedding. My wife has several professional photographer friends and he was highly recommended.

He did extremely well.

We ought to sit for drinks. I had a couple of mag covers. Mine were in architectural photography some years back. I would agree that it does take a special skill set and extreme patience to do event photography. That said, good is not cheap and cheap is not good. Some of those so-called pros who do little more than snapshots.
