I'm surprised this thread isn't seeing more action this time of year.
I’ll contribute
I have a buddy from North Carolina who briefly lived in Baton Rouge becuase of work. While he was down here he met a girl (now his wife) and they were on the way back to North Carolina for the holiday season and so he can introduce her to his family and vice versa. This was around 2016-2017. On the way, they stopped at a random gas station in middle of nowhere Georgia. While he was at the pump, a stranger, who as my buddy described as a strange looking middle aged man, approached him and said he has his driver license. My buddy tells that’s impossible, his license is tucked away in his wallet and he never took his wallet out the truck. The stranger said “you sure about that” and sure enough it was said license. My buddy thanks him and offers a couple dollars to the stranger but he declines. They then go their separate ways.
Fast forward to a couple month later along 3rd street in downtown Baton Rouge. My buddy and said girl were hanging out on the town and were walking along the street when they notice a dark shadowy figure crossing the street. As they got closer my buddy noticed it was the stranger from the gas station in Georgia. Stranger tells them that he found his license again. Buddy tells him “no you didn’t and don’t ever approach me again” and turns and walks away. They got home and realizes his license is missing.
My buddy firmly believes that it was the devil fricking with him (did the devil really go down to Georgia?). I simply told him he needs to start going to church

I also have a Christmas “ghost” story involving my mom and aunt and what they experienced on early Christmas morning when they were kids but I’ll save that until a couple months from now.

I heard about this short film on the Morbid podcast. It’s very, very well done. Creepy as hell. It’s called Meridian.

I did say that didn’t I. Guess I’ll save it for next Christmas

Here we go:
My mom told a story to my sister and me on what she experienced on Christmas morning when she was a kid. She never told anyone about it until she told it to my sister and me. I didn’t really believe her until my aunt recently confirmed it unknowingly to her.
My mother is the oldest of 7 siblings. Growing up, she shared a bedroom with my aunt. They had bunk beds adjacent to the doorway and mom slept on top while my aunt had the bottom. Across the room was a dresser with a giant Snoopy stuffed animal sitting on top of it.
Early on Christmas morning (late 60s/early 70s) my mom heard a noise coming from the hallway. She peered over into the doorway from her bunk and saw a “man in a red suit” (she never said Santa Claus) putting gifts into their stockings. She then saw the Snoopy’s head nodding back and forth. She got scared and crawled into the bottom bunk with my aunt and stayed there until it was time to get up.
As I mentioned before, she never told anyone what she saw…not to my aunt, her other sibling or my grandparents.
At a Christmas gathering a few years ago, my cousin (said aunt son) goes “Hey mom I remember about the Snoopy doll from when you were a kid”. My mom heard and was in shock that she also knew. Apparently, my aunt also witnessed Snoopy head moving but she didn’t tell anyone either, except for her kids. My grandmother never knew that occurred.
If you asked my mom if she believes in Santa, she’ll tell you no but she believes that a “sprit of Santa” visits house every Christmas.

I’ll add.
The house I lived in growing up had all kinds of activity. It was built by my moms ancestors long ago and passed down generations. When cousins would stay over they would be frightened at night and would typically say they would hear things. The way the house was layed out, the living room was on one end that was connected with a long hallway to the kitchen on the opposite end. Sometimes you would hear footsteps down that hallway. I would see a shadow figure in the kitchen sometimes when I was watching TV by myself or with my parents in the living room. I would chalk it up to my eyes playing tricks with me since the long hallway and the kitchen were in my peripheral. But the shadow figure was always the same figure and I could make out details. Like it always had a long coat and a fedora type hat. From being a child to about teenage age I probably saw that shadow about 5 times.
One day when I was 16, I was doing the dishes at night. It wasn’t too late either, around 8 or 9. My mother was the only other person in the house. I’m minding my own business trying to finish these dishes before bed when I feel a hand touch my shoulder. I turn around thinking it was my mom trying to get my attention and I see no one. I freaked and ran out of the kitchen calling for my mom. She was on the opposite side of the house doing her own thing. I told her what happened and said I ain’t going back in the kitchen and finishing them dishes lol
Years later, As I had already gone off to the army and my mom had lost the house, I was visiting on vacay and my mom was showing me old family pictures she had found from the move that I hadn’t seen before. She flips over a page and there is a picture of a man in a long coat and a fedora hat staring straight into the camera.

I know what Derick Todd Lee did to torture Pam Kinamore. I wish I didn’t.
