If this kid is seeing a 'shadow', you'll confuse her by telling her to color the bad man.

Tell her just to draw a picture.

Actually, I would just leave the kid alone. What if she draws a bald guy holding a golf club?

It sounds like she gave you the Cleveland Steamer while you were passed out.

If it weren't for the Boston Bombing thread, this thread would have my vote for thread of the year

Great thread. I have a couple of stories to add but here's the first.

When I was a little kid, say about 7 or so, my parents were leading a cub scout group for my older brother. It was in this small local Methodist church. Well as the leaders they came early, unlocked and opened up the Family Life Center area where the meetings were held to get ready, yada. We were in an area away from the basketball courts and such where it was mostly offices where I assume some Sunday School classes were held. Now they come in and leave me in the first office where they left their stuff and went to cut lights on in the other halls and wherever they had planned to conduct activities that evening.

My brother was over at his friend's house, coming to the scout meeting with him, so there I was by myself in one room. My parents had moved on, not far away mind you but they weren't in that particular room with me. I had brought a coloring book and was drawing in it when I thought I heard something and saw a silhouette move in the other room across the hallway which was basically pitch black but had a touch of light making its way into the room from the hall way light that was turned on. I knew we had just unlocked the doors and there wasn't supposed to be anyone else there with us. I also knew my parents weren't in that room. I moved over to the doorway of the room I was in to take a closer look at what I thought I saw. I wasn't really scared because logically we were the only ones there and logically I was probably just seeing things.

As I get to the edge of my room and look into the room across from me, I freaking see a man's face, with his profile catching the edge of the light coming in from the hallway. I had even seen his face close enough to see that he had a moustache. There was no doubt about it, there was this creepy dude in the other room. Now at 7 I realized this probably wasn't going to end well.. I didn't know what to do and I honestly don't know if the man saw me. I think he did but I tried not to act startled even though it scared the crap out of me because my hope was that he didn't know I was on to him.

No sooner than I had seen this man, my mom comes around the hallway and finds me. I motioned for her to follow me into the room I was in. I told her about seeing a man in there. Well here I was 7 years old and I am not certain she was prepared to believe me. I think when I described him with a moustache however, she got a little concerned when I came at her with some level of detail. She grabbed me and stuck her head out of the door on the other side of the room we were in that was perpendicular to another hallway. Fortunately my dad was coming back down the adjacent hallway. My mom stopped him and was telling him what I saw. I said, we need to go and I was getting a bit distraught. My parents grabbed a couple of items on the way out and we left. We went to a nearby house and called the police. I was shaking from what had happened so I think they finally got the picture that I was sincere about what I had seen.

The police came and they indeed found a man in there. He had broken in a window with his girlfriend. It was the pastor's son (he was about 20). I get chills thinking back to that night. What if it was really a criminal with sinister intentions and we had walked in on a burglary? Could have easily been the case but being 7 that one really freaked me out and I had trepidation for the longest time after if I came into a scenario that was anywhere close to that one.

Ok.

But that was my first thought. That some creeper was getting his rocks off to stalking someone...

Because frick slender man that's why

quote:

________Not much is known, as no specific information has been found about origins, but his objective and habitat are made very clear. He has the need to kidnap children and torture them to death, and is seen right before the disappearance of a child or multiple children. He seems to prefer fog enshrouded streets and wooded areas as a way to conceal himself from being noticed. It should also be noted that children have been able to see him when no other adults in the vicinity could. Children also have dreams or nightmares concerning The Slender Man before their disappearance. Confiding these stories to their parents are met with the usual parental admonition: overactive imaginations.

He's a better man than me because I would've put my arse up for adoption after the first time.

I'd be strapping you into the bed like mommie dearest

Also, I had a kinda creepy moment at Dillards earlier. I was in a dressing room trying on clothes and there was no one else in there. I know this because I tried every door, knocked on them, etc and they were all locked but the last one. So I'm in there and I start to feel like I'm not alone. But it's dead silent so I don't think anyone is on the other side of the door, but for some reason, when I turned around to look at myself in the mirror, I looked up and what I thought I saw was someone's head move away from a hole in the ceiling. I quickly put on my clothes and got the hell outta there. Maybe it was my imagination but I don't know.

I've only slept walked once since and that was my sophomore year of college after a night of partying with assorted substances. Which begs the question? Were my parents fricking drugging me?

I can't tell all the details but my cousins daughter had a very detailed imaginary friend. They would hear a loud pop and something would happen. Her daughter would say not to worry it was just Ina. She has been gone for several years but yesterday she said she heard the loud pop and the channel on the TV changed.

I've never seen ghost or had anything unusual happen to me. There is one thing that I have never forgotten and wondered what the hell it was. I was scouting one evening for a deer hunting spot. This was before season so I didn't have a gun on me. I was walking down a thicket line and I could hear a noise but I didn't pay it much mind. The more I walked the louder it got. I finally stopped and listen to see what the noise was. It was a low growl kind of like a cat but with a deep low tone to it. At this time it wasn't very far in the woods from me. I turned around and eased very quietly out of there until I was 50 yds or so away then I ran out there. I jumped on my 4 wheeler and hauled arse. I still can not explain the growling I heard. It was not a dog, coyote, bobcat or house cat.

Gonna get on that one right now. This thread has been a godsend for the stories and for bringing Nosleep to my attention, since I have been sick as frick the last few days.

I read the Woke Up in Chicago one last night, and the Friends one today, and the Spire in the Woods one just now. All this shite is great

I used to sleep walk really bad when I was a kid, my parents found me outside on a swingset, in the bathtub with the water running, sitting in the car in the garage, the worst part is that I actually went into their room twice and pissed all over them and their bed.
