Eating dinner and bath time can also count as time spent with your kids.

True, if you work late and your child goes to bed early it doesn't seem like much time, but you make the most of it. Having a heathy, well rested child has always been important to me, in addition to having them on a decent routine/schedule.

I also failed to mention we have a stargazing thing, like a legit star thing, projected on ceiling, plus a noise maker set on the wave sounds and a lavender scented aroma therapy machine.

If it's reflux you can get a wedge shaped pillow thing and a harness that fits it to put the baby in. Looks silly but is a lifesaver if it's that. One variation is called a Tucker sling.

So people with kids who go to bed at like 7pm do you not spend anytime with your kids? Get home from work, eat dinner, bath and what's left like 30 minutes of time with your kid??

Wife and son get home at like 5:15, I'm usually already home. Attention is usually on him until 7:30. Play in his room while the food is getting ready. Eat at the table together. Give him a bath and let him play in the tub. Then get in his PJs and hang out until bed time.

7:30 seems a little early at first, but they need that sleep. And we quickly noticed that staying up too much later meant he was going to have terrible sleep. I'd rather him get a good rest than just stay up just because.

As far as letting them cry it out. That's only done 2 or 3 times and they figure it out. It's not like we ignore him when he cries. But at the same time, rushing to save you toddler every time they whine for attention doesn't help a lot either. Not saying ignore your kids, but if they know they have you wrapped around their finger by turning on the waterworks, it's not great. My son definitely has 2 cries. A real one, and a "I'm not happy, so give me what I want" one. And he only asks for momma on that second one because he knows it doesn't work on me.

I have a friend who swore by this.

Another thing that I haven't seen mentioned is that your baby might be over tired and can't settle down. If I didn't catch the sleepy signs and waited too long, getting either one of my kids down for the night took much longer because they just couldn't settle down. The worst thing I could do was keep them up longer to make them more tired. Babies don't work like that.

Another thing is to try putting her to sleep half an hour earlier. Maybe move up or eliminate the last nap of the day and move up bedtime.

Mine didn't sleep through the night for over a year. Wouldn't wish that on anyone. My condolences.

Try feeding him avocado, and no, I'm not joking.
