My advice is to get an attorney and ask him or her for advice.

I have zero legal experience.

I would think you are in the clear. They had an inspection. And signed as is.

Sounds like an inspector issue brah

Although good luck to either party trying to hold their feet to the fire

Advice #1: delete this thread ASAP

Other than that, they did a full inspection, plus a walkthrough, and accepted the considerations you gave them at the closing table. And signed a waiver of redhibition. This is just a sleazy corporation trying to use deep pockets to game the legal system. By all rights they committed a tort (intentional infliction of emotional distress) and their lawyer should be disbarred under Rule 11.

Full disclosure: I'm not a lawyer and did not stay at Holiday Inn last night.

If you used a reputable realtor, do they not have any resources to assist? IMO this is why you use a realtor - for when shite hits the fan.

Depends on what the meaning of "as is," is.

My only advice is to never take advice from Oldmanbeasley. He’s not right in the head

I would not give them 23K this week.

I would consult with a real estate attorney in Florida.

Just remember that anyone can sue anyone but that doesn't mean they will win. But you will have to defend.

Might also want to do some sleuthing on this company. See if you can find dirt on them.

We had a similar situation a few months ago when we sold our home. Our buyers made a stink about some things right up to our closing (even after we corrected the items requested).

We threw them some money (outside of the closing), but we also had the title attorney draw up a document stating that in consideration of that money the matter was closed and they could not sue us in the future. We had our attorney change some things on the document and all parties signed. I better not hear a peep out of them ever again.

As teh Kingfish once said, I is in Florida, therefore I deny the allegation and defy the alligator.

considering they waited 3 months to bring this up this very week when everything is slow/shut down and they give you less than a week to respond, this is 100% scare tactics.
