Having AC problems. The air coming out is slightly cooled but not near as cold as it should be. Checked the pressure and it's fully charged.

I did have to change the compressor in the winter because it had died/stopped spinning, but checked under the hood and it seems to be good right now. Someone else had suggested a temperature gauge problem but idk if this car even has one since it's not digital.

Any suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated; thanks in advance!

Is it less cool when you are idling?

I had this problem on my wife's old Civic. There is a relay you can change out that is a cheap fix, but it's either that or the compressor clutch which is expensive fix.

Civics are notorious for ac problems.

Once I narrowed it down to the compressor clutch, I just sold the car.

I had an 07 and the compressor clutch went out. Had it replaced, and everything worked pretty well.

That's true. Ours just blew out hot air.

Yes I had the entire compressor set changed out a few months back. Opened the hood today and it's spinning fine. So I don't know if that's the issue.

It's about the same level of cool. If it is less cool, it's not noticeable.

Have you checked the muffler bearing?

Not an AC tech but I did stay at a Holiday Inn express last night. If AC was not properly charged last time, could have air in lines. May need to be evac'ed then charged again May explain the correct PSI.

This. The technician may have put too much or too little refrigerant in.

Right next to where you put the blinker fluid.

If so the pressure would be off but the OP said it waqs fine, if he knew to read it correctly.

It is also possible that the temperature control or blend door controls are off allowing a little heater into the plenums.

I've had blend door issues and it blew HOT air. That was in a Tahoe though. Very easy fix also.

Maybe related?

My wife had a problem with her heater and the car was low on engine coolant/ antifreeze.

I don't think this would relate to an AC problem, but check it out.

Hooking up an Autozone, throw- away gauge doesn't help diagnose an ac system as well as hooking up real gauges to the high and low side.

Might be best to pay a mechanic to check it out.
