Have a friend from out of state that needs some papers served to an individual quickly, before January 2nd. He is worried if they go to the S.O. they may not have the same urgency that he needs. Anyone have a contact or the best way to make this happen?

You can email me @gmail if need be.

I used to work for a company that was suing a guy for $30K for unpaid invoices on his account (building materials). But he could never get served, it went on for months. I found out the guy was staying with his GF and found out her address, notified the court and they still claimed they were unable to serve him. The company attorney petitioned the court to appoint me as the process server. I woke up early one Sunday morning, went to his GF's house at daybreak. He answered the door, I asked him "are you John Doe?" He said yes, I handed him the papers. He was legally served.

So, if possible, see if the court would allow your friend to serve the papers.

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't think it would be a good idea for him to do it but maybe something I can do.

He knows where he works and who he works for.

Im not going to give you legal advice but I would have your "friend" read the La. CCP before trying to forego service by the sheriff.

While I also refrain from giving any legal advice, and any opinions referenced here are strictly my own opinions, with no legal bearing and cannot be used in future litigations.

I'd also recommend your friend read the LA. CCP as well as the U.S. CCP and World CCP prior to trying to forego service by local authorities, both appointed and non.

The swamps and marshes of Cameron Parish have been known to bury a few problems over the years. I would be extremely careful if I were you and, like suggested earlier, research the CCP law.

I feel ya. Sheriffs are essentially worthless for serving papers.

He is not from there just working there right now. He has no connections with Cameron Parish.

This might be the safest bet in the history of bets.

Maybe there but I have to say I was happy with the services provided by Clark county, Vancouver WA.

They try to serve 1 day after being paid. Would try 5 consecutive days at 2 addresses.

I always preferred my ex-wifes work eta...cost was 75.

Your close to what he may be looking for. Someone that will legally serve this person for a fee if need be.

Does your friend have a lawyer? It sounds like he needs a lawyer.
