I think you can find some other spots not in Tigerland for $750.

see nothing but trouble headed for a graduate who will be living in Tigerland and is getting a concealed carry weapon

Agree. It may give him a false sense of security. When someone gets the drop on you...unless you have Jason Bourne reflexes and keep one in the chamber, concealed carry probably isnt going to help. When I was dating my SO many years ago she lived in Tigerland for a couple months before she realized she made a terrible mistake. It was a shithole back then and I open carried a 40cal on my hip and a blade in my pocket every time I picked her up.

He is an adult and you can be a victim of crime any where in BR but Tigerland is a real shithole. He should hold off until he can find a better place.

Any good CHP instructor will advise him to AVOID trouble spots if at all possible. He's about to move into one.

You as a "good guy" have to be 100% right, 100% of the time carrying that pistol. I'm just pointing out the sh*tbags never have to worry about that.
Never place yourself in a bad situation hoping it will all work out- because sometimes it just doesn't.

If he is a graduate and 21 why wouldn't he just move over by Ivar's if he's determined to be near "the night life."

He's not looking for night life.

He actually likes BR and the friends he's made and wants to put down roots in BR on his own.

Thats all well and good but if thats the case the Tigerland area isn't exactly an area for putting roots down. There are plenty of better options where youre not dealing with caravans of drunk people and shootouts.

I lived in Tigerland for three years in the early 1980's and loved it, but I would definitely NOT recommend it to you these days. I tell my young family members not to frequent the bars that I used to walk to back then. Of course they do not listen to me and when there is an incident they can usually give me a report from first hand knowledge.

So why the hell does he want to live in tigerland? The only positive is it’s proximity to the bars

I wouldn’t do the Arendale apartments. It’s too close to North Donmoor, which is an absolute slum, Titian Ave, Harry Dr ect ect. He’d be too close to Greenwell Springs Rd, where all the rift raft and thugs would make their way south to look for easy prey for a robbery or a murder. Lots of drug activity in the area.

That’s way too North, don’t suggest that area for your son.
