Need advice. New paranoid schizophrenic neighbor.

Middle aged guy living alone in a house. Was a nice neighborhood all 9 years we've been here. Will try to be quick & to the point. His family own a house across street & about 3 down from me. Their 50 yr old unstable son has worn out his welcome at various apartment complexes over his 3 years here (Central Texas) since coming from Los Angeles. His brother told me he stopped taking his psych meds. No car. He walks to local gas station to reload for beer. Struts down streets blocking traffic ignoring sidewalks. Screams very vulgar cusswords all hours of the day & night. He's been here 10 days & multiple neighbors, me included, have called the cops 6 times & counting. Before I knew he was psych I approached him to dial down the language as kids were walking home from school one street over & he went off on me so I just walked away & called cops. All the cops tell us is unless he gets violent they can't do anything. They assure us he's never been violent. No perv records. His brother who I texted apologized we're putting up with this & said he'd try to get him to take his meds. Now he doesn't reply to texts. I gave our HOA all the info on this guy. Frustrating as hell. I feel for the guy because he's disturbed but it ain't right for my whole subdivision to put up with this BS.

Bait him into throwing the first punch, preferably on your property.

All the neighbors should buy cameras and prominently display them pointed at his house. That will send him over the edge and he’ll be in the psych ward for a little while.

That’s a shitty situation. Shitty for the neighbors, the kids, the guy with theheavy mental illness but especially the brother. That’s gotta be frustrating and stressful as hell for that guy.

The problem will eventually work itself out for one of y'all. Either he kills you and your whole family, or he offs himself.
I used to have a schizo neighbor. Last time I saw him was after he got tazed by the cops and was being wheeled out of his front door while tied down to a stretcher. He was yelling "Drew Brees Touchdown!" while trying to signal a touchdown, but his arms were tied down, so only his hands came up I hope he's doing better.
